I believe it all comes down in the end to your business model and needs...

I personally love working with 2Checkout on my core business for many different reasons, but registration comes with a 50$ setup fee on all accounts (limited to one URL).

For flexibility and speed, I still use paypal...

First of, there is nothing illegal about it. And you actually agree to those terms and give paypal that power when you create an account and accept their TOS.

Also, I've seen many disputes come and go, it's part of doing business, and never had my account frozen or blocked. Just make sure you play by the rules and you should be fine.

We've all heard the horror stories about paypal. Yes, they sometimes crush innocent business owners in the process of protecting the buyer, but if it means anything, it's that you should never keep all your eggs in the same basket. And that's why as soon as a website becomes profitable enough or reaches a certain level of transactions I will switch it to 2Checkout who understand our industry a lot better and goes to great lenght to protect and represent their sellers.

I agree with Alexandre Valois. Never keep all your earnings with a single Payment Processor.

And to answer your question, I cannot say it is the best but yes, 2CO is one of the best payment processors. I use it too.
