Stay away from these..awesome article

I had to share this because it so clearly state my feelings about recently hyped up launches.

"A copywriting technique that's incredibly effective is what's called a "blind offer". A blind offer is this - you don't know exactly what you get until after you purchase. If the sales letter spends more time telling you what it's NOT than what it is... it's a blind offer.
If the sales letter explains you'll exploit a loophole... but doesn't give you the slightest hint of what that loophole is... It's a blind offer.
If you have no idea exactly what you're getting, in terms of the training content... It's a blind offer."

Great post ... I've seen so many sales letters that told you nothing about what you would actually get. I've never bought anything from a sales letter like that. I want to know exactly what I'll be getting, even if it is a "technique" there are plenty of sales letters that tell you what you will be getting without giving away the "technique".

I don't know why people would spend any money on something without knowing what they're getting.

Like going shopping and picking up a box with a brown plain wrapper and buying it, hoping it will be somthing useful.

Some won't. It's the mystery of it all I guess. That way, it can be *anything* you want it to be - like a "grab bag" from the old days.

BTW - Is your day better today Suzanne?

I totally agree... However what is just as bad is buying a product that does what the sales letter says, yet they left out it violates the terms of service... Example... I bought a twitter software tool that violated twitters terms of service... It worked as promoted and got my twitter account suspended... That hurt... and the guy refused to give me a refund because the software worked as advertised... So in a way I got screwed twice for being greedy... So I gave up on overnight success and took the longer more secure road...

That sounds so familiar...Around a year ago when I was taking a look at any product released, I came across a lot of these. Some definitely sparked my interest, I never could bring myself to spend money on something that I new basically nothing about though.

That is the exact reason I have never bought a Clickbank product. After reading sales page after sales page and never learn anything about the product other than the product creator guarantees it will work with absolutely no backup other than testimonials. It must work though because people keep doing it.

I can definitely see why this type of offer works though... it makes you feel like this is a very exclusive type thing, a secret that not many know and it also get's the best of your curiosity. It's targeting a specific type of demographic of people.

    Like your post.
When I was just starting fell for more than one of these very skillfully designed sales sites only to find that the "magic software" that would attract traffic to my site was something quite illegal...
I got my money back fortunately.

Always better to buy from people who clearly explain what their product will do for you. Better, always buy from those that offer you a free trial if the product is a software package.
