Question about wholesaling NFL Jerseys

Hello Warrior Forum, I am new as far as posting to the forum, but have been reading your excellent posts for about a month now. I do have to say many of you have saved me a lot of time and money.

Here is my first post and a question I am hoping some of you can help me with.

Me and a friend of mine are considering selling NFL and MLB Jerseys. We have a pretty good way of doing this besides the web.

My question to you is that the only place to really get good deals on the Jerseys is through wholesale outlets in China.

We can pay for them through Pay Pal, so I am thinking the risks are minimal.

Do any of you have any experience or thoughts on getting wholesale goods from China and if it is fairly safe getting products from them through Pay Pal.

Thanks in advance.

    Hey Frank,
Not sure of laws in the US but in the UK you must make sure you only sell genuine merchandise otherwise you're likely to end up losing all your stock and being in a 8 by 4 for selling counterfiet goods. Many years ago I had a business on ebay selling designer t-shirts but there was a problem getting genuine goods etc. Wasn't worth the risk so I stopped.

Thanks Richard, I believe here in the U.S. you can sell the Jerseys as long as you make it clear they are not original and are merely replicas of the original. I will double check on this though.

        That's all jailhouse-lawyer talk.

If you're getting them from China, then they're almost certainly counterfeits. Its still illegal because you'd be violating the copyrights of the holders (like the NFL) and the licenses of manufacturers (like Reebok).

This is a horrible plan, plain and simple. There's a reason why the Chinese are willing to sell you the jerseys so cheap.

Not true, it is a crime. Not worth the risk but hey it's your butt on the line, literally....

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.

It is legal to sell properly-identified replica jerseys, but if you fail to pay the appropriate license fees to MLB and the NFL, may God have mercy on your soul. Even Satan himself is afraid of their lawyers...

You're actually wrong on both counts. EMS shipping from China, for large packages (say 40 pounds) is actually quite reasonable and only takes about 7 business days and they offer online tracking. When you start to parcel out the items (like drop shipping) it becomes expensive quickly and none of your clients will be willing to pay it. Plus, most Chinese manufacturers shy away from drop-shipping, they'd rather send you a large package.

If you buy 10 jerseys or more, shipping is free. The fees are in the insurance and Pay Pal fees they charge.

I have a small business that is apparel, and right now the manufacturers are scrambling due to the massive cotton shortage.

Google "Cotton Shortage" and you will see it's not a good thing. As of this morning, I got emails from major manufacturers about how they are already jacking up prices and cutting down on what they produce for colors and sizes.

Might want to think about, or at least factor that into the equation of your decision.

Thanks Keith, do you get your apparel from China or some other overseas wholesaler?

Well that and you're also going to need a new pair of shorts when they send a courier with a cease & desist letter from the NFL.

LOL - Although Mark Sanchez's jersey may have to be a throwback jersey if he keeps playing the way he is.

    Hi Frank,

    Welcome to the forum.

I have been using these guys for a month now.
I have been getting footwear from them.

I have had 5 deliveries, all over 6 pair each so shipping was free to Australia,
Longest I had to wait was 6 days from day of payment.

I constantly talk to the guy on his website as he has live help there.

While the tracking is good, it only tracks the parcel till it leaves China but as I said, every parcel has been on my doorstep within the week.
Packaging is secure. Goods always in 100% good condition.

    I recommend this guy 100%

    Hope this helps

    Craig

Wholesale jerseys from China are knockoffs. The sellers will often use images of authentic jerseys, yet when you receive your order, you can see they are knockoffs. It is against the law to sell knockoff merchandise, even if you say they are replicas. Plain and simple.
