Whether I should give my site's url or use bit.ly in other website's comments to make mine popular?

Hi,

My website is based on android apps and I write only original content there on a regular basis. I want to publicize the good work. So, I thought I will put links in the comments of other similar websites directing users to my website. I don't mean to overdo it. I will use it selectively only for good posts of my website, and will give links in the comments of other 5-6 websites.

I intend to do this by giving very short description of what url is about and the url itself, in the comments of other websites I've handpicked.

So, my Question is: Whether I should give a plain url of my website (which will show my website's name and full address of the post)? Or I should use url shorteners like bit/ly or any other?

I would like to know whether any one of the above will affect Google's understanding of my website in a negative way.

I hope I have clarified my view. Please let me know if you need more details.

I am not positive about this so don't quote me,

But... By using a short domain by bit.ly you will only give the backlinks to them. What I would suggest is using your own domain name. This way not only will people see the name *and possibly remember it..* but you also add one more backlink to your list.

bit.ly uses redirects so in theory the backlink will be credited to your website, not them.

However, theres no reason why you shouldnt just use your normal url. This is how i backlink loads of my sites, and google wont penalise you for this, trust me.
