From Newbie to Guru within __ Days/Months/Years!

I have a question for the guru's of this forum:

How long did it take for you to officially become a guru (by your definition) from the time you started your IM career?

Some fellow IMers I know literally blew up overnight, while others took a couple of years until things started to go their way.

What about you?

    How sad for them. I understand spontaneous human combustion can be rather painful.

    As for me, no, I haven't literally blown up overnight... yet.

    GURU: The teacher.

    It's not about how you define guru... its about who Guru is.

    Guru is an Indian word which means teacher... It has been adapted from there.

    Not sure why a guru is someone who has a strong web presence... Most Guru's don't.

    The IM guru's ... things are different in that case.

    Based on what you wrote it would be interesting to hear who "blew up overnight" - and your thoughts about how and why that was able to happen.
