what are typical pricing for fixed term 3 month courses

I know the big guys charge alot even $1997

But I'm not one of them so aiming in the mid price range!

Target is small to medium biz and niche is in the marketing area, so has a biz value beyond hobbyists/the public.

I'm thinking in the + $450 range for 3 mths or $127month

What are common figures used in this sort of range?

thanks

It's difficult to tell without knowing more about your membership and even then there isn't one set pricing model.

Some charge more, come charge less. The key, which I'm sure you know, is to maximize profit per subscriber.

If you can share a bit more about the program I'm sure we can help.

        hi sorry I wasn't clearer.

The niche is business marketing, weekly video lessons and resources over 3 mths.

My main question was more about the attractive figures to punters rather than what I should price my course .

        eg

        people use $47 a lot

        $97 a load

        $1997 the big guns

but say in the $97 - $400 bracket what are popular figures?

        thanks

You can ask as many folks as you like about price structure for a membership site and you'll find most of them give you a completely different answer.

Your charges will depend on your own level of expertise, and what your membership site will consist of.

If your charging over $100 a month, your going to have to have some pretty special stuff in there (nothing rehashed), to get folks to join up.

Having said that if you have a high price membership your more likely to attract affiliates to help you promote it

Testing your price range is your main answer I think

I think your only option is to go with Kim and conduct some tests of pricing.

Even if you where compeltely explicit about content of your membership, the pricing would be effected by a lot of other things like your introductory copy and design.

It shouldn't be difficult to present your offering with a range of prices, and keep dooing this until you get a clear indication of what generates the best balance between volume and value so that you have the a good return on your effort.

Having said this I would always advise start higher and go down particularly as early on I suspect you will be giving more individual attention and also having to refine things and get feedback.

    Hope it goes well

      Hi Paul,

Please, don't get me wrong, but if you leave us in obscurity, don't expect correct answer. We are able to guess only on that basis what you give.

Anyway, if you want to ask more then the quality of your product must be excellent. When a product is weaker then you need to add more value. Ie. you sell your product in more formats, text + audio + video + podcast, etc.

Other help may be analysing your competitor's similar product.

Consider the advices of Kim and buslead. You can sell your product only if people want to pay for it. Quality is first.

      All the best,

      Sandor
