Hi everyone.

Where to start?

The internet marketing "scene" I guess you'd call it..is a very big industry, with so many terms, lingo and what-not it's almost impossible to choose where to start, I've read eBook after eBook explaining several methods from FB to autopilot and hundreds of other methods. But now I'm sick and tired of reading and lurking on others people's success I want to finally start taking action but I have literally no idea where to start..So my question to advanced people is, Where should I start?
#start

Start where YOU want to start. Build on your strengths, skills, interests and abilities. It's entirely up to you!

It doesn't matter where you start, just start somewhere!

It seems as if you have all the information to get going on your hard drive. Pick one and start doing it. Even if you fail you will learn and learning is important in this business.

You will quickly find what your strengths are and you can ramp it up from there.

    Good luck!

You will have a lot of competition in that market... BUT... It is a good starting point and I am glad you are getting somewhere.

Yeah I know I'll have a lot of competition...would you suggest using a wordpress blog or scratch html site?

I have to agree with Deezy. It is a pretty competitive market but you only learn by doing. There are tons of useful ideas on the forum for someone starting out. I found that you have to focus on one thing and do it. There are just too many distractions if you jump from on ebook to another. Put the ebooks down for a week and apply what you've learnt

If you have to ask other people where to "start" your IM endeavor, you're not going to succeed. Find what you take interest in, and give it a go.

Internet Marketing is all about finding what works and then exploiting the hell out of it.

I started out promoting products as an affiliate back in 1997.

I discovered the power of building my own email lists and that was my key to success.

    I'd suggest you start there.....
    1. Promote affiliate products
    2. Build targeted email lists

Its a little more to it than that...but its something
that can be easily learned and is quite effective.

If you find that that works for you...exploit the heck out of it.

Well, its simple really....for example if you research the Dog Breeding niche and discover that theres a strong underserved market for breeding Jack Russell Terriers ....then you should consider building a list around that niche.

Once again theres a little more to it than that...but thats the jist of what I mean.

You need to make your movies site offer something that is not already offered on other sites. Uniqueness. That is the best way to stand out, and make something out of it.

    Hi Vulk,

If you're new to online marketing, which it sounds like you're implying in your question, and want to learn about ways to market, and build traffic sources, and get a good summary of what many of this forum's threads talk about, I would recommend you to read the "all in one" threads.

You'll find it here: WarriorForum - Internet Marketing Forums - Threads Tagged with allinone It's one of the sticky threads in the main forum. You can read about one topic at a time and start to build your knowledge from some really solid warriors with specialties.

    Hope it helps,
    Will

Who's to say they are really successful? You don't know these people alleged "success stories" from a can of paint & neither do I.

Well, I'm new to IM, but I want to give my two cents.

I've recently asked a VERY similer question and learned that building your content is the easy part. The traffic, is where you have to continue to learn. I've recently learned my favorite way for traffic is articles. They're showing more effectiveness each day. It's my prefered way.

Some say build squeeze pages to get emails, but I personally hate squeeze pages. It never captures my wanting, so I wonder why it would capture others. If you've truly read many ebooks, just pick an idea and stick with it. You might have read too much which is what I did; I got overwelmed. Just pick one and tweak it untill it's right.

My only advice is to stick with whatever you start. I'm new as well (I've done a lot of reading too), but I think my advice here is well thought out.

      Just my two cents.

The problem with that is the bandwidth bill. If one of your videos goes viral then you could be hurting. If you are new then this could be a fast way to loose a lot of money. If you use YouTube then will be loosing a lot of traffic to them but it is a least safe until you see how to convert your traffic.

If I were you I would choose something that has proved to be profitable. If your site is going to have a lot of general videos like youtube and if you just use adsense then you will be entering a business model that has proven to loose money... just look at youtube. Even if you have youtube host your videos to pay the bw you still need to make money. How many people do you think will click on adsense when coming to a video site? You will make almost nothing from that.

What other ideas do you have?

I have free hosting from a close friend that owns his own hosting website, so I don't have to worry about hosting fees..as for the videos I won't be hosting any videos directly on the site..I'll refer them to 3rd party website's that contain the movie/TV show..

As far as other ideas I've been thinking about just doing clickbank.

I would suggest you find something that really interests you and then decide on how you will structure your business to take advantage of IM.

If you start as an affiliate this is sound because you can make money via a very simple process with no website, using clickbank, and forum marketing in that niche.

Further you can base your business on blogs, or websites or both, using the various traffic methods available, still as an affiliate or you could develop your own product/s.

When you have a base (i.e.website) that you can attract or direct people to, then you can build a list of people who are interested in what you have to offer and go from there. With a list you can serve them by adding quality content and affiliate offers.

      Hope this helps.
Thanks. My second option was to be an affiliate for CB..Find a product I know a lot about, create a blog..with 10 or so unique articles and mention the product. Easier said than done..but that's the route I'd follow..
