Need advice in selling website

Hi! This is my first time to post and I'm sure there are a lot of brilliant people here who might be of help.

I'm new to internet marketing and for my first project, I'm working on this website but I want to sell it.

I have done some work on the website but it is not that finished yet. It has a couple of articles but I haven't done any SEO on it nor any backlinks.

It is about Black Friday deals which is coming in two months but with a full time job and two kids under three, I won't be able to work on it in time for Black Friday. I want to sell it as soon as possible to somebody who will take good care of it.

I'm not sure if I should sell the whole site (I made it on wordpress) or just the domain name. I don't know where to start or how to go about it!

The website link is in my signature so please check it and please advise on what I need to improve on so I can sell it fast.

Thanks!

I'm afraid that at this late date, you'd be lucky to recoup your registration fee.

I know it's tough at times, but surely you can squeeze in a few hours after bedtime and during nap time over the next few weekends to install adsense and maybe some affiliate program stuff.

Steamline the site, stuff a few pages with relevant material, get some backlinks, make some relevant forum posts and hope for some traffic and clicks.

You've experienced the drawbacks of domains with expiration dates.

    Thanks, JD!

So are you saying I should just hold on to it and work on getting traffic to it so I can earn some from affiliate sales?

I think your best hope of getting anything out of it is to monetize what you've got.

      Set up AdSense at least.

You can try to sell it, but I'd be afraid that you'l just spend more to get little to nothing.

If you realy want to sell, you could always try emailing the competition to see if they'd be interested. They're all right here: blackfriday 2010 - Google Search=

Is the site in question the one in your signature?

However i think JD is right, you'd be lucky if you even get the reg fee. Sites with "work in progress" and without any actual results (of at least rankings and traffic, if no income to show) do not really sell. Rarely someone would buy and the main reason if they buy is because of a nice domain, and yours is kind of limited "2010"...so it would be "useless" (so to say) for 2011.

If you can get to sell for a price that would return your investment you will be good (and hope that's not even a high XX).
