Narrowing my topics for an info product, anyone have any experience in these niches?...

Hey guys,

For the past couple weeks, i've been listing different niche topics to create an info product with. I have friends who have done very well in the health and fitness market and we had some group sessions about more product ideas.

Has anyone had any experience in the Self Help market: 1.) Advise on how to make friends/how to attract people into your life 2.) Cutting cost on household bills and personal expenses

We thought these topics were pretty good but I'd love to hear some feedback from all you seasoned vets out there. In terms of bumps in the road, I would think both of these topics would need some serious creative marketing as there aren't to many big guns out there with big lists to help affiliate market the product.

Any input would be much appreciated for this noob

Thanks guys,
Brandon

    Hi Brandon,

Maybe not a direct answer to your questions, but I found this information (original source Ed Dale) really helpful. Especially as I have to date made products and then tried to find people to buy my product *DOH*

It's called the symphony of 4 and in a nutshell and in order of importance:
    1. Market Research - Vitally important
    2. Traffic - crucial element. Is there enough traffic to maintain our business?
    3. Conversion - how many people are taking the action we want - e.g. signing up for a mailing list etc
    4. Product - comes last

Just last week I was about to start investing time, energy and money in creating a new product for the Qigong market, then I came across the symphony of 4 and realised I was about to make that 'age old mistake'.

    Hope that's of some use.

    Bye for now

    Marcus

Hey Thanks for that Marcus, great info!

I have been "doing my homework" this time around as I have been through the 'age old mistake' a couple times in the past couple years now.

It's tough juggling finding a topic that you have a decent amount of passion for and do your homework to find that it will work in that market. Just more and more thinking outside the box nowadays. I guess that's why 90% of people fail!

    Cheers!

Exactly. Keyword research is the vital first step. Is there enough of a market audience for you to even get involved?

Brandon, #1 is a big seller with a lot of competition, especially if you're thinking of yet another 'Law of Attraction' product. You'll need a unique hook to make this one work. #2 seems like it should be a big seller, but the people who need the information the most can't/won't spend money on it. They can spend an hour online or at the public library's periodical section and be up to their eyeballs in free information.
