Hey folks. I was curious if anyone could point me to some good places to sell domain names. I have a few good ones that I'm not currently using and decided that I may as well get rid of them instead of continuing to pay for them every year. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

If the domains are valued in the $1xxx + range then I recommend listing them at Afternic.com , doing so automatically gets them listed across most of the top domain marketplaces where they will get a lot of exposure...

For less valuable domains or domains you would like to sell quickly eBay.com or Flippa.com would be better...

    Cheers,
    Danny.

Sedo is king with domains......but the places above are good as well. I sell at all of them just fine BUT your biggest audience will be Sedo....If they are listed at godaddy use there premier listing service as well (free with the domain)

I'd also recommend Sedo and Afternic. NamePros is great if you want to sell at a deep discount (reseller price).

Thanks for the ideas! I've never tried selling domains so I'm kind of a newbie to this. Like I said I have a few good domains, but they are currently not being used and aren't getting any traffic. What would be a good starting point for pricing? Here are a few of the domains:

    torchtheflab.com
    flabtorch.com
    losing-abdominal-fat.org
    advancedfarmville.com
    custom-boat-building.com
    makechickencoops.com
    traffictvortex.com
    unconventionaltraffic.com

    Thanks again!

Really? Wow, well what would I have to do to increase the value? Sorry for the newbie questions but I've never dealt with buying and selling domains before. Usually I buy domains with the intention of creating affiliate websites around them but I got a little ahead of myself this time and bit off more than I could chew, lol.

As a domain investor (and I speak for myself only) I look for keywords and run those words against google to see the search results. Of course the higher the better. If the word is made up like tobo.com (made up) then its a brandable name with no search results but brandabilty and short. In your domains I just see words put together that the only way the domain would have vaule is with other factors like PR, Age, etc. On the name alone with nothing else I would not pay anything for them. Again just my opion only. With this said you could sell them on ebay starting at .99 and see where it goes.

Yes I actually do the same thing when coming up with domains for affiliate sites. I try to look for keywords that have decent search volume and low competition and create the domains using those keywords or keyword phrases. Hence the losing-abdominal-fat.org, custom-boat-building.com, and quite a few others that I'm not selling, ;o) But some of the others I had the intention of creating products around but never got around to doing it. I just figured that I may be able to make a few bucks off of them by selling them off, but if I can't do that I'll probably just hang on to them until I actually get around to doing something useful with them. Thanks DNChamp and everyone else for your helpful advice, I appreciate it.

btw, Sedo is not king. DNF is king.

Anyways, I agree on the reg fee unless you can develop them into a full website and get it listed for good keywords on search engines then you may have a chance at a few hundreds or even thousands but as always, CONTENT is king.

If you're really serious in domaining and Gene might agree, make friends with buyers in DN forums. At times if they don't buy they know someone who will.
