Anyone know the best place to upload a video that is 21 mins long seeing as Youtube vids are only allowed to be 10 mins max? I think Dailymotion is 20 mins, are there any other free sites?

  • Why not open it up with one of the free video editing softwares.
    (movie maker?)

Chop it into 2 or 3 videos (now you have a mini course!!)
    and upload it to google.

I use video a LOT and you'll get a better result with three shorter
videos than a single long one.

    • Hi Mike.

      I just had a look at freewebsitemakeover.co.uk

What a terrific idea, good one.

Great for mere mortals like me and I would assume works well for you also, very innovative.

I've just signed up for your makeover.

I actually found you whilst looking for a cheap/free video software to make short vids for affiliate marketing.

I'm thinking screen shots with text from powerpoint or similar and relevant music for the 'get my ex back niche'

I recieved an email from Mark Ling of Affilorama who's pushing a system at Mind Movies 2.0

It looks quite good but it's expensive at $197.00, have you seen this software?

Do you have any suggestions/recommendations Mike?

Looking forward to your reply & your make over.

      Cheers,
      Peter
  • vimeo (but commercial work not allowed)
    viddler (not sure of limit)
try the free trial at vzaar (by file size not duration)
  • Off top of my head: viddler, google video, & vimeo

  • Youtube gives you a 10 minute limit for a reason. They found that most people won't click on longer videos. To maximize you CTR keep it under 10 and make 2 parts if needed. A SEO trend emerging is to host your video on your site and post it out all over then create a video site map and submit it to google and they will track back all your links to the home page of the video.

    • Actually it is 15 minutes limit now on Youtube, not 10.

Now I am not sure why you have a 21 minute video but for general marketing purposes you want to keep this a LOT shorter. I do contract video work and I try and keep videos under 5 minutes. There are exceptions however, but they mostly have to do with explaining software or technical issues.

Lynda.com, the premiere online learning resource never has a video video longer than 10 minutes, and MOST are under 5. I can almost assure you if I saw your video, I would cut out the majority of it, or at least re-edit it and make more concise points. I am not saying your editing is weak, but ANY video that long, I will def take betting odds that it is in fact, way too long.

Now as for Youtube, no matter where else you put your video (but for the love of God, not your own shared host), you really should be on the world's largest video sharing website, so I would recommend that you conform to their moderate restrictions and take full advantage of what that service has to offer.
  • I really like using Vimeo for videos too long for youtube.
  • never heart of viddler but about to check em out
  • depends on what you're trying to accomplish. do you want more traffic, better video quality? the option to use for commercial use and/or hosting?

IMO I say vimeo. I'm very happy with the quality after uploading, but if you're trying to drive traffic, I'd say youtube. But don't get rid of the thought of uploading your video to several places and just test the quality, traffic, etc
  • Why not host them on Amazon s3? Then you can totally control the content and utilize them on any other sites if you choose. Also there are lots of awesome tools around S3 that will allow you to do some really cool things with your videos...

  • I'd spit it into a few as helisell said.
