How to maintain security when outsourcing?

I buy my domains at godaddy and have unlimited hosting with bluehost.

Question:

If I hire freelancers to help me build and install my sites, how do I maintain security?

If I need them to install and tweak the site in bluehost, is there anyway to limit their access to only that specific domain within bluehost? I would not want to risk a freelancer modifying other existing sites under that hosting account.

Any solutions? (other than buying a separate hosting account for each and every domain?)

    Yes, there sure is. Create a new FTP account in your Bluehost admin area, and there should be an option to limit that FTP user to a certain folder. In this case, it'll be the folder for that specific domain.

    Bluehost may have some help docs on this too.

    make sure you give them limited access on the ftp account and always back up your files!

    It's MOST important to back up your files, above all else.

    Because even if they have limited access, they can delete everything they DO have access to if you have a dispute with them.

    But, yes, obviously limit their access too.

    When you outsource this job.. true that you must only allow the hired person with limited access for your own security. Also, back up your files, most especially if you don't know the person personally.

    Well, treat them right, pay them right so they won't mess up with your files. I have heard from other people that workers may have the tendency to mess up with your sites.

    Outsourcing is a business that trust is the first requirement. Business won't grow if you haven't trusted the company that you're working with. This business has it pros and cons, you just need to find the right company, ask for samples and client references so you can decide.
