Direct linking to affiliate site or own site

Hi, all,

I'm recently testing putting direct links in articles that submitted to article directories, such as ezinearticles or articlebase. I noticed that the hop links is much better than those from my own site.

Just wondering which one will have better results, should I put affiliate links directly in the articles or should I link to my own site? Thanks

I'm pretty sure ezinearticles doesn't like affiliate links and will remove them as will the other top directories I would guess. It's better to use a presell on your site anyway for anything over $10.

I'm recently doing the same thing! I would also like to know the answer to this question.

But my hypothesis is there will be less people buying products from the hops. The reason being that with a website or blog, I think people put some trust in our judgement. With an article, it seems like any random Joe could have written it.

That's just my thought though. None of that is factual nor does it have statistics backing it up (At least from me).

It's worth testing, but personally, I always link to my own site.

Sometimes, when in the initial stages of testing a niche, I might link directly to the Clickbank product, but this is rare. It really just depends on how involved you want to be in the niche.

    Best of luck though,

You should have a link to your own squeeze page, so you can be building your list, but then let them go directly to the aff link in the confirmation page of your autoresponder.

That way they don't feel jilted for clicking, but you still get the goods. : )

    When you have two options:

    -Send directly to affiliate page
    -Build your list

Always go for building your list! I believe I first heard this from Dan Kennedy years ago, but the bottom line is you can dump all of your efforts into sending people to another site.

Once they are there, you can't sell to them again.

Get them on you list and sell them on the affiliate product, then later you can sell them on a different product... even one you might create and keep 100% of the profits.

    go get 'em!
