Best site to hire help: Elance or something else?

I'm looking into hiring someone through one of these hire sites. I tried Elance but thought the hired help was a bit pricey and I didn't get that many bids. I know you have to pay for talent and quality but are there better alternatives where you can get the best of both worlds with price and talent? What about other sites like ODesk, Guru, VWorker etc?

    go to www.freelancer.com
It's cheap and when you create a new account you'll have a trial project for free. They have acheap price cause they only charge the affiliate minimum fees or you can directly pay the affiliate through paypal.

Depending on what you are looking to outsource, you can also try fiverr.com. I've used them for outsourcing voiceover/video work.

I don't like the idea of having to pay for membership just to hire someone (freelancer). ODesk sounds good though and so do some of the others. Thanks for the feedback guys!

I've found that a lot of jobs I hired people to do for $50+ on Elance I can get done just as well on Fiverr. Though the people on Fiverr are a little more difficult to work with and I think there are a few more bad apples there than at Elance.

I've also found the Warriors For Hire section to be a really great place for hiring, because everyone here already knows a bit about internet marketing, and the prices are pretty good.

I'm sure there are lots of talented people here but I'd rather go through a trusted third party when it comes to dealing with big projects.

Okay, that's a lot of votes for Freelancer and one for ODesk. Does anyone else want to share their experiences with these sites or suggest other good ones?

I would prefer using a site with an escrow service. I need a good coder to do some upgrades.

Odesk has always been my favorite. Seems like they cover just about ever skill I've needed and I've always received about 5-20 responses to my jobs within about 10 minutes.

    Hi xaron,

One reason why you may not have received a lot of bids from Elance is because Elance charges its workers to make more than 10 bids a month. That's going to limit your choices.

vWorker doesn't restrict its workers this way. Use vWorker's search engine with criteria set for specific indicators of quality so you'll get bids from those who can help you most efficiently. vWorker provides access to all sorts of workers: individuals, teams, and entire companies. Do note that vWorker requires 100% escrowing.

Yes I agree that you can hire some great help here on the warrior forum at competitive prices BUT I'd also HIGHLY recommend oDesk. You get to interview the people first and you can actually watch them working on your project from your computer...how cool is that?

PS: Plus the prices for hiring help is EXCELLENT

I use onlinejobs.ph, bestjobs.ph or odesk as I like employing phillino ninja's full time. Just make sure you have a very strong and well created filtering process for sorting between the dud's and the really good workers.

oDesk is awesome, great platform, very cheap labor and im getting great backlinks created for a social media website i own that is getting lots of additional traffic through all the forum and blog posting being done. It litterally costs me $20 to have someone work all day long on my project. If you have a single project freelancer is great, if its an ongoing project like link building, or social media marketing oDesk is the way to go. Hope that helps.

I personally used rentacoder before, and was pretty pleased with the system.

Not too sure about the rest though.

Think you just need to test out a few of them, then stick to one that you're comfortable with
