Is this a stupid idea?

I've been told I should "brand" my name. So I was thinking of Power Packed As in 30 Power Packed pages. Or Power Packed with hundreds of ideas. Is it a stupid idea?

You want to brand Power Packed or you want to use that as a way to brand your name? What would be included in the power pack? If it would be of astounding quality and have a lot of really great information and you could get it to enough people I would think that would be useful for branding purposes.

      Hi,

I'm not sure if you are trying to brand your name or the name "power packed".

In any case I thought if you are going this route you might like to check out this link (I am not affiliated with this) I just happened to find it. It's someone else's link.

Name Branding Syndicator Software Download (if I remember correctly it's only a dollar to download it) "Name Branding Syndicator Software"

I would have thought the opening sentence .. "I've been told I should brand my name..." would have been a dead give away on Dee's goal.

Don't know about the "Power Packed" myself, Dee. I'd kick it around a bit more. Maybe something on the front end.. Pure Power, Simply Power, or what ever.

It's completly up to you, i think branding can be a very successfull 'boosting' method as people will associate it with your products.

I think Pete's idea "Pure(ly) 'Power Packed' Product" or "Pure(ly) 'Power' Packed Package" would be good because of the alliteration. (P-P-P-P).

Edit - Maybe for a Money Making Niche - Pure 'Power' Packed Profits.
          For a Plug-In softwar - Pure 'Power' Packed Plug-Ins

          You get the drift...

I don't think it's clear at all. "Dee Power" can be a brand in and of itself without the addition of the additional text. On the other hand developing a brand that stands independent of the operator can be very valuable. You're fortunate to have a name that lends itself to both!

            Dee,

This thread reminds me of the time I once bought a Buick Riviera. I was really proud of it, so I called one of my good friends and told him "Hey man, I just bought a fully loaded Buick Riviera! You gotta check this out!" His reply...

"Oh, you should have bought an Olds Toronado".

I'm pretty sure the next thought that went through my brain sounded like one of those cartoon noises that you get when you run your finger up and down over your lips real fast and hum a note.

Anyway, here's my point...if you think branding "Power Packed" will be good for your overall strategy then try it out. Get a good logo, be sure the products have continuity so your customers will relate to the brand, and then see how the market embraces it.

My personal opinion? I like it. I see a lot of potential.

But I once bought a Buick Riviera, so what the gump do I know.

I'm guessing you're thinking of branding 'Power Packed' to your name. Right? I don't think it's a stupid idea. But, if you're going to do that you'll probably want to use the same brand name with all of your products - at least the ones that follow the original. That's what branding is after all.

So, if you're going to put forth the effort to create a brand, why not make it more unique, interesting, outrageous, wild... Power Packed is okay, but it's fairly common in advertising. Okay, maybe not so common, but it's still out there.

If I were going to go to the trouble, I'd come up with something really unique - something people would almost immediately recognize as different and special. Maybe you could run a little contest on WF to get some ideas... Or, maybe you could just use Power Packed ;o)

Assuming you are talking about branding your name, I would say it is definitely a great idea. Look at all the top IMs ... we know them by name, not by the product names alone. Adds credibility to your products too.

It is also a plus if you go out to conferences etc when people already know who you are.
