P.A.S.I.I. - Agree? Disagree?

Ok Warriors, here's the deal.

I'm fed up.

Please allow me to make a small, but heartfelt rant...

I am so sick of people here...

People that keep saying ALL internet marketers are liars.

We're not.

Believe it or not, some of us strive to be honest and work hard to do so. We don't feel the need to sell our souls for a quick buck.

I have never understood why the people who think we are all crooked liars hang out here in the first place. If they're okay hanging out with whom they perceive as liars and thieves, that says more about them than anything.

So, drop the blanket accusations. They are offensive.

Yes, I know there are some "people" who will always be jerks and think they are funny. To them I say, get a life. Seriously. What kind of psychological problems do you have?

So, a hale and hearty...

PASII*

Please?

All the best,
Michael

Michael, I think these are the so called attention seekers that some warriors are notorious for, bashing other marketers just to get themselves noticed. Just hope they realise their mistakes soon, and focus on their own efforts rather than thrash talk others.

I think you are right, in some cases this is what they are doing. However, I also know that some of these people do it to be trolls, to stir things up. It happens.

But then there are those who use it as some sort of twisted justification for their own bad behavior. Sorry, but that doesn't work. A lot of us are honest (in fact, I truly believe MOST of us ARE). Besides, since when is it okay to do something wrong because others are doing it?

      All the best,

        Michael,

Thought provoking post. I must say that I've not noticed people taking positions that extreme, but perhaps that is because I pretty much ignore the bashers, assume that they (a) are having a bad day or (b) clueless jerks with opinions that are set in stone.

I will continue to ignore the bashers, as I feel they have nothing worthwhile to contribute.

Michael, there are indeed some trolls that delight in trying to make people squirm. There are also a lot of victims lashing out in impotent tantrums because they didn't get what they wanted.

They never fail because they didn't do the work, or they didn't have the skill, or even because they bit on a line that their common sense should have steered them clear of. They fail because all marketers are liars, the gurus are conspiring against them, or whatever the excuse of the day is today...and the only way they can deal with it is to kick and scream and hold their breath until they turn blue.

          Pretty sad, really...

Bashers can have different agendas. Number 1. being what Lady Na Na suggested.

Others can be genuine; people who are so frustrated with all the lies and exagerated claims in the IM industry that they begin to doubt everyone, even although there are so many legit IM'ers out there.

They are of course wrong to brand everyone with the same brush but they may just be so confused and so frustrated at the lack of quality in some of the material/courses that they have bought that they begin to air their frustrations in an incorrect manner.

At the same time however these same people will continue to hang out in places they think they are being scammed in. Why? Because inside somewhere they still have that dream, that belief that the secret is out there somewhere :-)

I think Riz hit the nail on the head. They see big claims and want to replicate the success. When they can't (whether through lack of action on their part, or lack of integrity on the seller's part) they get discouraged and lash out. Yet they continue to be drawn to the next big claim.

The problem is that a lot of marketers, really in GENERAL(B&M, mail order, etc... as well as online), tend to act like used car salesmen. SO, the group ends up getting the same reputation. Be thankful it doesn't happen every day.

Nobody believes that everyone lies 100%. Amazon could EASILY rig their reviews, but I think they are really trying to clean them up. Sometimes to THEIR detriment. If you stock up on something, and have reviews that clearly say it is JUNK, you can only lose, with regard to the investment in that item.

One company, that many respect, has told what I think is a VERY big lie. Earlier, most would have disagreed, and they had a rating of like 10. I predicted it would drop to 6. Well, NOW it seems most agree with me, and it dropped to about 8. It is teetering on 7. To make things worse, I think they may be fiddling with the reviews. HECK, they said this stuff was RARE, would sell out quickly, and may never come back. I have seen it all over and nobody is talking about not having enough. The consensus seems to be that it is junk. If it were as good as it claimed, it would even be in DRUG STORES, and it would sell out in a couple weeks because NOBODY could produce it fast enough. I am SERIOUS! It claims to be THE ultimate solution in TWO MULTI BILLION DOLLAR industries! BTW amazon has ONE BETA tester giving it a five, and everyone else giving it a one.

I could go on and on, but I'll spare you.

    Steve

This is another reason why we need more buttons such "No Thanks" button so that we can discourage these attention seekers who are just here to tell you why you are so bad, wrong, stupid.

Michael, the funniest part is that they don't know what they are doing to themselves as far as this forum and internet marketing in general are concerned.

That may be true for some who say such things. But then why are they here? If they think we're all liars, and they hang out here, then I wonder why they would want to be known as somebody who intentionally associates with the very people they think of as liars and thieves.

        Exactly my sentiment.

If this industry, or site, or whatever, is so damn miserable, then LEAVE.

I don't get why some people would want to associate with people that they believe to be something negative.

Then again, I try not to focus on what other people are doing if it's not relavent to my business/my life too... so maybe this whole post is pointless.. haha.

When I was in college, I spent a lot of my off days at the local horse track. It was like clockwork - after the seventh race, there would be two lines. One in front of the ATM machine and one in front of the Western Union booth. The conversation was always the same, too. "I'll make it up on the late daily double (or whatever)" and "These races are all fixed - you just have to figure out whose turn it is to win."

Funny thing is, I started seeing the same people in those lines every week.

Neither. At the time, I was making enough to cover my gas, admission and refreshments on a bad day. On a good day, I could multiply my bankroll 4-5 times. On the occasional stinker, once the bankroll was gone, I became a spectator.

Which actually brings things back around to something related to doing business and making money, thankyouverymuch...

Whether it's buying products, memberships, paid ads, coaching, whatever, don't play with money you can't afford to lose. Even the best get bitten on the behind once in a while.

One of the saddest things I ever saw at the track was one day when the crowd let out. I saw this guy standing at the edge of the parking lot, just staring out into space, I thought he was sick, so I asked if he was okay. He told me he had just lost an entire paycheck, and he was wondering what he was going to tell his wife and how he was going to feed his kids.

I'd had one of my good days, so I gave him $50 and told him to go home. Maybe I got scammed, but if I did, this guy deserved an Oscar.

Now I read stories on this forum from people who have spent the rent and maxed out their credit cards on the latest shiny magic buttons and now they're really desperate. I don't give out $50 bills anymore, but it makes me just as sad...

You have a point there, m2m. I wasn't sure if I should even post it, but then figured it may help negate some of the negativism.

          I hope it does, anyway.

The more such negative blanket statements go unchecked, the more true they become in the minds of the masses.

What we really need is a way to automatically detect and ignore these types of comments. On the other hand, that would just be ignoring the problem, which means leaving it unchecked, which means...

Anyway, you have a point, and it wasn't an easy decision, but I posted with good intentions and think the ensuing discussion is worthwhile.

Yeah, i think it was a good post on your part, I was mostly talking about my specific post being pointless.

I agree with you that there needs to be a change in the overall mentality of the masses, and unfortunately that means someone has to go to bat for "positivity".. Good on your for doing that, as a lot of the times, some of us don't have the energy to make it that far.

The premise is that ALL Internet marketers are liars.

    You're an Internet marketer.

You say that not ALL Internet marketers are liars.

If ALL Internet marketers are liars, then you would say they are not.

Since you are saying they are not, then you are admitting that ALL Internet marketers are liars.
