Hi Warriors,

I don't know how many of you know this
but there's a plugin you can use to start
uploading your blog posts to EzineArticles.

Pretty sweet stuff.

    Awesome! Thanks a lot. I think I will try this out. I think everyone who runs a wordpress blog should look into this tho because ezine is amazing for SEO.

        They don't like duplicate material on the same site.

        Meaning, if you're doing well for an article for your
        site and you copy-and-paste the exact same
        article on your site but you change the title to a
        different keyword, you get penalized for it.

        But otherwise, what you're doing with this plugin
        is re-purposing your content by letting more people
        know about it.

          Cathy: I would not say that I am smarter... Rather, I have a lot of education on this topic...

          Asher nailed it exactly, when he suggested... Google does not like two or more pages on one site that are essentially the same content...

          Google actually calls this a Duplicate Content Filter, rather than a Penalty...

          Say for example you have an e-commerce website, and you carry V-Neck T-Shirts in several colors... Google does not want to show what is essentially the exact same T-Shirt in several colors: red, black, blue, brown, gray and white...

          In this situation, Google's Duplicate Content Filter will engage, enabling it to one show one of the color variations in its search results... It is literally redundant to list all six colors in the same set of results, because they are all the same shirt...



          As article marketers, we do not want one website to demonstrate the same article on the same website more than once, with different titles, as Asher suggested...

          Now, you might say to yourself, what kind of webmasters would be stupid enough to do that anyway... After all, the webmaster should be interested in improving their users' experience...

          Don't laugh, I have seen a number of webmasters do it...

          Those websites that do such silly things get the duplicate pages (duplicated within the same site) blocked from Google, for Duplicate Content...

          Some people suggest a webmaster is at risk of Duplicate Content with a WordPress blog, because it has the post page, the keyword and category pages, and the date range page, each of which that can have the exact same article...

          Many people tell their robots.txt to avoid crawling everything but the Post pages and regular Pages... There are even WP Plugins that help you to do that...



          Now, to the real matter at hand... You post an article first to your blog and then to EzineArticles...

          Sometimes the EZA editors are dimwits -- I say that with the greatest of love and respect for Chris Knight... LOL

          Sometimes the EZA editor will say that your article is rejected because it was posted on your site first... That is not against the EZA rules... Just remind the editor that the article is on YOUR site, and they will let your article go through...

          This is what is referred to as Content Syndication / Article Syndication...

          Article Syndication is not penalized by Google...

          In fact, Article Directories are in the business of syndicating your content, so if your article is posted on EZA or any other article directory, it may find its way onto many more websites, because it was in the article directory first... This is something that the Article Spinner sales people conveniently forget to tell you... They say to spin the content to make it unique, then post it to Article Directories that are designed to syndicate your content... :roll eyes:
          Some will claim that I am full of something brown for saying this... But consider this... If Google penalized syndicated article content, then likely they are penalizing syndicated content across the entire spectrum of content right?

          So how come: if Google penalizes Syndicated Article Content, why don't they penalize Syndicated News Content?

          Well, the truth is that they penalize neither...

          There are two kinds of people who will argue with me on this... Those who sell Article Spinning software, and those who buy Article Spinning software, because they were duped...

          Syndicated Content has existed since the invention of the printing press... When you read the newspaper or visit news websites, you will see some articles lead with Associated Press (AP), United Press International (UPI), and Reuters... These are Content Syndication companies that service the news industry...

          In essence, the AP, UPI and Reuters organizations have their own staff writers who write the news, and they sell their content to other news organizations, including websites, newspapers, magazines, radio stations and TV stations...

          They syndicate written stories, images, audio streams, and video content...

          In my Duplicate Content Penalty Myth post, shown also in my signature, I document the entire story I am sharing with you now, but I back it up with testimony from SEO experts and a detailed analysis of one syndicated news story...



          Now, one could argue that since I make money from Article Syndication that my words should be questioned, just as the words of the Article Spinner salesmen should be questioned...

          I have no problem with that whatsoever... You should question my story, giving it as much scrutiny as you give the story of the Article Spinner sellers...

          My information will stand up to any scrutiny given to it...

            Yes Bill, we agree. Google filters duplicate content on the same website. (not ducking yet )

            Google also 'filters' duplicate content posted on different websites.

            Google tries hard to index and show pages with distinct information.
            Syndicate carefully: If you syndicate your content on other sites, Google will always show the version we think is most appropriate for users in each given search, which may or may not be the version you'd prefer.

            ILet's put this to bed once and for all, folks: There's no such thing as a "duplicate content penalty." At least, not in the way most people mean when they say that.
            There are some penalties that are related to the idea of having the same content as another site--for example, if you're scraping content from other sites and republishing it, or if you republish content without adding any additional value.
            I realise you used the word penalize instead of filter and that I think is what is so confusing to everyone involved in the whole article marketing/article syndication/article spinning debate.

    Duplicate content should not be the only concern in a situation like this. There are 2 other big issues to consider:

    1. Let's say you start publishing all of your blog posts on EZA, and let's say that I am an EZA visitor who found one of your posts and loved it - loved it enough to click on your link and visit your site. However, when I arrive, I see the exact same post that I just read. Since you have nothing new to offer me, I'm gone.

    2. Blog posts and articles are 2 very distinct forms of writing. Blogs are more conversational and more informal than articles. Your blog posts may not translate well to an article directory.

      I'd deserve you to be "gone", too, if I arranged my links so that that happened!

      This isn't an argument against posting first on your own site and then subsequently submitting to articles directories at all.

      It's simply an argument against linking back from an article-directory copy of an article to the same article on your website - but surely nobody's going to do that anyway?! :confused:

      Mine translate just fine that way, and in other ways, because that's why and how they've been written. I want to get my articles on some well targeted, context-relevant, high-PR sites belonging to other people, because that way I get gradually increasing targeted quality backlinks, traffic, opt-ins and sales developing from my already-published work, by effectively getting other people to do some of my off-page SEO for me.

      Article directories are one of the ways I achieve that gradual syndication of my work.

      And for all the reasons explained in so much detail by so many successful professional article marketers in this fine thread, I publish my articles on my own site first and have them indexed there.

      The idea of someone visiting and seeing another copy of the article they've just read is a complete non-issue.

      It's there, but they'd have to look really hard for it. They'll see my static pages, product reviews, incentivized opt-ins and other content first.

      If they really stay on my site long enough to be able to notice that there's also another copy of the article they just read, then they're certainly very welcome visitors indeed!
