Good grief! My Amazon aStore is getting lots of traffic, but no one is buying. I thought a video game aStore would do well right before the holidays. The traffic is there, but the wallets are not. Anyone with tips to share? Is it always this hard to get conversions with aStore?

Are you just linking visitors to your store or are you warming them up with recommendations, reviews etc?

I submitted reviews to article directories with a link to my aStore in the resource box. I also uploaded videos to YouTube and included a link to my aStore. In addition, I used StumbleUpon, Digg, and Twitter to promote my articles and videos.

Instead of sending them directly to the store I might try sending them to a more in depth review. Warm them up a bit more?

What about capturing the leads and send them emails about updates to your stores and reviews? Would that help?

Those sound like good suggestions. I've tried all I could think of, so maybe it's time to try what you all think of. LOL

    Buying is down
I have stores that sell physical products too.

I've seen a down hill side happening over the last 3 months and I was predicting it would pick up after the election - for me thats been the case. My daily orders have more than doubled since the election.

    As for your Amazon store.
The pros are you are on a site that has lots of traffic

The cons are you are on a site that has lots of vendors.

With Amazon you will see a lot of traffic because people go there to price compare and to research products.

The unfortunate part of having an Amazon store is the number of vendors selling the same item as you - visitors are comparing your prices and reputation to the other listings.

When people come to my stores - there are no other competitors for them to price compare, so I have a captive audience.

Your product pages have to be more dynamic and appealing then your competitors AND you have to have the best price.
For buyers on Amazon its all about the price - lowest price vendor with a good reputation wins the sale.

Try some creative selling like free shipping over XX $$, two for one sales, and coupons.

    Hope that helps

    Sorry Michelle
I saw later you were talking about an associate store - thats a tough one. You don't actually have the product to sell so you can't offer coupons, etc.

If you can control what products show - make sure you pick the hottest titles and the best prices.

Hey, I guess you should look into the source of your traffic. If the majority of them are coming from the search engines, you might be targeting the wrong keywords because people searching for certain keywords don't buy stuffs.

If it is on the flip side, which most of them are coming from the article directories, you need to write your articles in such a way that will attract purchases, such as reviews like what getsmartt has said or buying/shopping tips. General how to articles might not work if you are targeting physical product buyers.

Also, are you in eBay Partners Network? I find their conversion rate is way higher compared to Amazon. Still trying to figure out Amazon...

I'm not in the eBay Network. I'm going to look into it though. Thanks.
