Blog Post...Done Daily is 100 words ok?

Building up my blog since I finally got indexed with help from a Warrior, and now want to ramp it up. I have some nice 500 word articles on the blog but just want to test waters with daily postings of tips and info............Im going to post 100-150 word post daily on tips and such and want to know is this enough to start as 300 + words can be costly on a weekly basis if the site does not take off.

You can do 100 words a day - but you can get the same results by posting less often and posting meatier articles.

It's something you need to test.

Personally I wouldn't bother posting something up just for the sake of posting.

I like to add content that is meaty, well thought out, and really says something.

Depends on how you are trying to monetize the blog as well.

Yes, you can do this with a hundred words - but if you are thinking this is necessary to get more traffic I don't think it's necessarily an effective plan.

I had a niche site where most of my posts were 50-100 words and 1-3 pictures. It worked out well but I was only after long tail keywords that had low comp.

yes thats part of what I will be doing is getting long tail and semi heavy keywords targeted as well bring visitors back for info with the daily post. If I see any changes will continue or like the poster above maybe 1-2 "meaty" post a week will be good to!

I think 100 word posts are fine ... but I always look at it like the more "words" you have on the page the more long tail phrases you have chance to rank for.

Yes, I know you are going for certain long tails you have already picked out but if you look at the server logs for your existing blogs, I'm willing to bet you will find that you are being found for a whole slew of phrases you never even thought about. So, more words = more money.

Also, what Jill said above - You want to give your visitors a good experience, but if you can do that in 100 words than it's all good.

    I second avenuegirl's advice.

I write longer posts and publish them less frequently. Readership and comments rose quite a bit since sticking to this practice. On the flip-side I received few views when trying the alternative strategy.
