It's very typical and isn't a problem at all.

While this won't penalize you it probably is not passing as much link juice as you would like. Google tends to rank sites higher that have links from multiple relevant sites than site with more links form one site.

So my advice to you is to get get more links from multiple sites that are relevant to your site.

Dumb question, but how does Google know it's from a blog roll?

For one of my blogs, there is one particular competitor that ranks really high for similar keywords. As far as I can tell, they have tons of incoming links from being on the blogroll of one particular other high-profile website in the same niche. You're saying that in fact this is not having much impact?

How do Google see the scenario in the terms of "Link Farming" ?
And per day I hear that Google ..keep track of the backlinks coming in...How do you handle this..not to be penalized...and I don't want to go back to number...106745..

    Thanks

I checked all that out last week because one of my advertisers was concerned about Google seeing site wide links as getting too many backlinks in a short time.

From what I read Google can see the difference when it comes to one link on a home page or sitewide links and only counts one link from a site or blog as relevant so there is no need to worry.
