New to Webmaster Tools and am a bit confused

I finally set up a Webmaster Tools account and I went in to look around after it had been active for a couple of days. I didn't see much that was too interesting, but I did see a list of key words that have made it to the first page of G. (maybe)

The key words are pretty weird, yet I do remember articles that used those words. No clickthroughs however, but I just wanted to see for myself. So I copied and pasted the key word 'pink also'. What the hell that is I am not sure. But it pulled up a lot of sites. I set my display to 100 as I didn't see it in the first page, even though WMT tells me I am #1, and I do a find through the first 100, and I am nowhere to be found.

So, what the hell?

Why would they even list that key word? I have a couple of articles that are about companies that are listed on the Pink exchange and I have the ticker symbol in there as is typical in an article about a company. But where does the 'also' come from?

I keep hearing about all the information you can gather from WMT, but so far all I see is something to spend more of my time fiddling around. I do enough of that in forums already.

Maybe I will figure this out someday. But for the time being, I don't see a whole lot to help me. When the traffic gets higher, maybe there will be something to see. I hope.

In your Search Queries list you have a few drop down boxes to filter where the information is coming from. Try changing it just to Web and see what you get. Also adjust the location of the search. If the result appeared in another Country, it is possible yuo can't replicate the result yourself in Google.com.

The data is also historic - if your site is jumping around a lot in the SERPs you need to keep the list showing only the most recent data. This is often 1 week old.

Just because you aren't directly targeting a keyword, it doesn't mean your page can't appear for some really weird phrases. Image results can return all sorts of keywords.

You have to take the data as a general indicator, and not worry too much about the details. None of these tools are 100% accurate - there are always anomolies.
