Has anyone ever tried this to increase conversion rates?

You send out emails to build trust - then you give them the pitch - then there are those still sitting on the fence.

What if you sent them an email and just asked them..."Why haven't you ordered"?..lets talk..I want to know why.

Then answer (or hire someone to answer) those emails on an individual basis. If done correctly, I would think this would have a significant impact on conversion rates.

  • Send e-mail of interest
  • Sure, done all the time. You can also send them to a multiple choice survey as well with common objections and whatever they choose takes them to your address on the specific objection.

  • I have it strategically installed in my sheet. The ones who dont reply mails are asked to fill up some survey after which they get something free. And the last stage is talking directly to the people on some kind of live chat or caller id. I have to do this as my niche industry is too big and has lots of competitors.

  • Thanks guys. So how much of a difference can this make in conversions?

    • No one can really tell you that because it's different for everyone and dependent on too many factors. Just go ahead and test it for yourself and see what kind of results you get.

  • That's kind of like asking how much more will my sales letter convert if I do a video instead of a written sales letter... there's a lot of ways to go about this (call center, auto email series, multiple choice reason why w/ automated response, 1 on 1 email response, etc.) so it can vary quite a bit.

I would say this is one of the last activities you would put in place after testing your sales letter, adding an upsell or upsell(s) with a downsell... etc. If you're not doing high volume you'd be better off spending the time on another offer, but if you're expecting thousands of visitors in a short time period (like a product launch or aged product with a lot of affiliates) then this addition is certainly worthwhile... especially if your order process involves getting an email and name first, then the credit card info, and following up with those who just put in their name and email but didn't finish the order process. If that's the case, this can grab 30%+ after testing of those partial orderers... and those add up very quickly.
