Using Pen Names in Marketing?

For those of you who create infoproducts under pen names, do you also use this pen name for more than just signing your products? For example, if you were to contact someone asking for an interview for your next product in the same niche, would you contact that person using your pen name identity? Do you do the same for networking and JV opportunities?

TIA

I think there's no rules for that. It depends what you do, the way you like to do it and whether you want to be anonymous or public.

Personally I use my real name as I don't have anything to hide.

The purpose of a pen name or pseudonym is not necessarily because one has something to hide. There can be a number of reasons. Authors do it all the time, as do actors. And marketers. Some do it so as to avoid confusion when they are marketing in diverse niches. Some do it because a particular pen name is more suited to a particular niche than their own name.

When I use assumed names, which I am not currently doing but have done in the past, I use them for any and all communication within that niche.

I am admittedly a bit paranoid about attracting too much attention to my personal info online, but much of my reason for using pen names is because I plan to go into several niches and don't want to dilute my expertise so to speak.

      Ditto, except I am currently.

Only makes sense - if you started using a pen name/assumed name, there was a REASON for it, or you just were having an identity crisis. Ongoing communication with that audience should remain the same. Changing it up mid-stream would only confuse your buyers/readers, etc.

Of course, if you are speaking with a friend / business partner that knows your true identity that's a different story.

It depends - if you're trying to make your pen name a domain expert then I'd use the pen name - otherwise, you can use the pen name but let the person know that's what you're doing.
I use pen names in different niches more to avoid confusion and to prevent diluting my expert 'status' in others.
To each his own - but nothing wrong with using a pen name - unless the goal is to do something illegal etc.
