You don't upload articles from your computer to WordPress. You'd have to copy the text in the articles and paste them into posts individually.

Be careful if you are pasting from Microsoft Word as it adds a bunch of code that you can't see that will cause formatting problems when displaying your posts. If you copy from Word then use the "Paste from Word" button on the WYSIWYG editor. It will strip out the extra formatting code for you.

You can setup your blog to read posts from email. You setup your blog with email details. Then email the articles to that address. You can automate that part

There is a plugin that will let you import HTML files from a folder on your server into pages or posts. It is especially useful when you are converting a static site to Wordpress as long as your code isn't too messy.

Blogsense has an article importing and drop posting feature for text files

There may be some other options, but those are the ones I've used before

Not sure if it's still around, but there is (was?) a plugin called PLR to Wordpress (I think) that worked like this:

    1. Upload text/html files to your ftp server (in a specific folder)
    2. Go to WordPress --> PLR to WordPress -- > publish
There were a few options, like categories and post times (could be randomized starting on a given day).

You can also use a tool like SEnuke (don't blast me mods, just telling a good/easy way to add your own articles to your own WP blog, nothing black hat here) to do something similar.

I don't think so, but I am not entirely sure about that. Sorry I don't have a definitive answer for you.
