Anyone else getting flooded with Linkedin spam in the last couple of days?

I've gotten 10 of them so far today, and every link is to a different, non-associated site.

    Yes - I've noticed this..

I do have over 1500 people in my network so I dont know if this has anything to do with it..

I have since set my email account to send any LinkedIn related emails straight to a folder. This reduces emails into my inbox.

I got something different the other day, that I have yet taken the time to explore. It was a $100 advertising credit from LI. I think I'll check it out now that I am thinking about it.

Use a junk email on all social networks, there are ways to get that data from most all of them

I think a few of you may be missing the point.

It is a new phishing scam that is going around, and thus is not coming from Linked In directly and has nothing to do with who you may have linked to within your network.

Sure it may target those that use LinkedIn as opposed to those that don't, but it definitely is not affected or brought on by networking and connecting with those pesky "internet marketers".

It surprises me that everyone here let an underhanded comment like the quote above by Jsamson slide by.

I take offense to the fact that you don't consider internet marketers business people, and the fact that you are insinuating all spam comes from IM'ers.

Maybe you are in the wrong forum if that is how you feel about the "business".
