Does updating a website and or blog make your search ranking go down for a little while and almost always come back to where it was?
Please let me know.
I was told this forum is very friendly, and I should ask anything that I could use an answer to.
Thanks everyone,

If you're talking simple down and dirty, you might try downloading a trial version of Snag It from Tech Smith. Their editor is super user and you can create banners with different dimensions pretty easy. I think you can get a free 30 day trial, but the software is well worth the 40 or 50 bucks in the long run.

Google will analyze surfing behavior and make result adjustments based on the types of actions you take. Of course it's all part of their algorithm and there are varying levels of agreement as to what extent this will happen. I personally don't see it happening too much though.

The scenario you described, most likely no as there is not a "boomerang" effect. However, if you make changes to a page about "purple widgets" and now the page focuses on "blue widgets" - your relevancy for "purple widgets" has now changed and you would see MOST LIKELY a drop in rankings for that key term.

    Hope that helps.

      Thanks Nick
The Techsmith software seems good but I just want to take an image I have and make it clickable for a blog. It will say in the image click here...Not even sure if it qualifies as a banner but I do need it to be 336 x 280 I'll look techsmiths software over.

If you or someone knows another easy site to work with for banners I 'd appreciate it

I just use a simple online banner generator. Try this one:

Banner Maker - Online Banner Creator - Free Banner Generator

    About your Google question.

I think it's because they alternate there free ads. Sponsored ads get rotated too but they stay on top and the right hand side of the search results.

    Nick,

What you are probably seeing on Google is the effects of Web History and Google modifying your results. Make sure you are logged out when you do searching for checking your own ranking. I prefer using Market Samurai's Rank Tracker, since then I do not need to worry about logging out.

I have seen my blogs bounce a little as I add new content. It is normally the front page of the blog which bounces, while the rankings for specific posts stay in place. Since your blog posts affect the content of your front page it will have some effect on rankings for particular keyword phrases. One way to minimize this is to keep a sticky post at the top of the blog which is targeted to your primary phrase you are trying to rank for.

    Gary,

you can open the image in Paint and just add the click here text to it. As far as making it clickable, you'll have to do that when you post it in the site. Depending on what blog software you use, it should be pretty straight forward to add the image and then make it a link.

If you have photoshop I find it easy, simply take the image, use the slice tool then edit the html properties. Same can be done in Illustrator or Fireworks.

yes if you have any image edit software knowledge so you can create your self and if not have knowledge try to create from another designer person.

Its call Google Dance there is take many changes for your website action and depends on your competitors actions.

Nope its not happen if you changes your whole website with design and content so your website ranking down and if you updated so you will not get ranking down.

I use macromedia flash mx everytime i make animated gif since it's just like making a video presentation and you can use it for other flash projects. but before i use flash mx, i used another banner maker that's easier to use but it has a "trial version" tag on the corner.

in terms of the changed results for the same search, page ranks are different from time to time since it's like a race. one time, a site may be on the top then change after several seconds. hence, different sites may dominate, resulting to varying results in every search.
