    Dude,

Why would PayPal send you a link to pay them,w hen they could just withdraw it from your account. The from address has been faked. Do not click the link, forward it to your local PayPal Fraud Dept.

PayPal would never address you as 'Dear Sir', they will always use your full name. That's a dead giveaway that it's not PayPal sending you the email.

I always forward mail like that to spoof@paypal.com

    Thanks,

    John

    Send it to spoof@paypal.com

The reason this happens is because of the lack of security within the email system.

You can put anything in the "From" field, and I think this confuses people as you can't using a free email address.

The problem is that also appears when I login on paypal on recent transactions... as a pending transaction with following details:

      type: bill from
      payment status: pending
and on Order status/Actions: theres a link to pay 5.000

This means that someone has sent you a bill - that you need to action
        hence the Pending

someone using the .es email address has sent you an invoice

dont do anything other than send this to the support dept / report it to them

make sure to do not agree to pay this account

They're 'chancing their arm': It's the same as if someone sent you an invoice by regular snail-mail saying you owe them $X, so kindly pay up. (That happens too, and some people pay up, even if they've never heard of the person demanding money).

In this case, send the details to PayPal. And, if you're worried, change your PayPal password (on a secure computer).

Do they really make money by doing this? And nothing happens to them so that they can keep on doing this again and again...

And then you hear stories about someone sued because he didnt have proper disclaimers or whatever...

The world is full of loop holes and technicalities that we as normal citizens wont ever know about ... yes some people never check what they are paying ... here in the uk recently - very well known online stores have been caught adding items to customers carts before checkouts - illegal? unethical? profitable? lawyers are slick ...

you have been conned - someone wants to con you out of your money ... reports it ... simple

someone sent your paypal address a bill. That's why it shows up dude. It's called the invoicing system at paypal. You need to accept the bill to pay it. Which is why it came from the service address.

If it says pending, click on cancel if you can. Or else call PayPal.
