From multiple sources. I made mistake of listening and reading too many guru materials.

When I chose just one and forgot about others I made my money in few days.

I did my first freelance writing in the IM world, and made my first affiliate commission, roughly a month after I came to the Warrior Forum.

Still haven't, really. I kind of know what a system would look like, and I've even constructed systems that others are using for their routines, but I haven't gotten comfortable enough to really carve out the details of what MY system is.

I do know what I want my day to look like: I should work whatever hours I want, spend most of my time posting on forums and checking email, have the freedom to say "screw it" and walk away for up to a week at a time if I feel like it, and my business should not suffer if I get blind drunk and post some inane garbage on YouTube.

And honestly, that's how my days look now. I'm just trying to get the incme goals in place around that, and then I can settle things into a system.

1. I made my first sale within the first day (but I started with Adwords)
However... I didn't make any REAL money for the first nine months.

Which leads to...

2. After two years in IM I've polished my own system nicely. It's a checklist that my wife and I go through for each and every site.

And you know what? Once your system is in place, you just rinse and repeat.

The key is to maintain FOCUS and take DAILY ACTION.

Everything else works itself out.

Well I started off with affiliate marketing and ended up doing freelance writing, as this is what was making me an income. This happened within a month of me attempting to make money online.

I am now earning a nice income through writing each month, and am looking to ramp it up some more. When I have time I do affiliate marketing and have made a couple of sales but nothing to shout about. Still working on that end of things.

  I've always been successful when I've set clear and achievable goals and focused only on the goal until I had finished ie. write an ebook and list it on Clickbank. As for a system, I'm still working on scaling a method which has been successful. So far that goal has eluded me. I guess I should get off WF and focus. LOL

It took me about 18 months. The reasons why it took me so long was because when I first got started I jumped from one thing to another. Secondly, I was horrible at following instructions and allowed my ego to keep me from making money. Thirdly, I didn't give any one technique or system enough time to build any momentum.

2. How long did it take you to get a system down well enough where it became routine?

Once I solved the above-mentioned issues, it took me about 3 months to really get my first system down pat. It took me about a year to systemize everything, including my continuity plan in case I die or become disabled. This way my business could continue even if a bus ran over me or did one too many keg stands.
