Hey Fellow Warriors...

I have had so much confusion, on what to do, what to buy, where to start. I have gotten some plr, and some other free products, added squeeze pages, and also promote clickbank affiliate offers as well.

I use some PPV methods and try to target the buyer keywords for each of my affilate promotions as well, but have not made ANYTHING on this...

Your help is appreciated! I am in the process of giving away some of my free stuff to help me build a list but am not getting anywhere.

My history is a website designer, I have the skills to design a website, I am awesome with Wordpress and HTML coding, can get stuff to rank organically with my SEO skills as well, but just need some initial guidance on where to start and make some money.

Your Help is Appreciated! I would love to meet some successful online marketers that need help with design stuff, so we can work together accomplish a goal!

Thank you,

Jesse Guthrie

  • Make a website about how to design a website. Start a newsletter and make some products and then sell it to the opt ins.

    • Yeah, that's what I think as well build a site around website design since sounds like
your niche of expertise. I really can't see it any other way go after what you know first.
  • Now you really won't find any better advice than you have in those couple of posts above. Your skill as a web designer is really something that is in demand use the force young Luke ...
  • ok good advice guys...I am knowledgeable about Wordpress design as well. I think I will go into a product designing with Wordpress... sound good?

Mission - I got your PM but I cannot return it intill I have 50 posts...i sent you an email

  • ^^ ok good advice.. thank you for this
  • What good is making a product going to do you, if you don't know how to sell it?

My advice, is learn to sell an existing website design course and then you can make your own and send that traffic to your own product.

Don't ever put your time into making a product before you know you can find the buyers.
  • At the risk of offending people...

Offer your services in the WSO and/or WFH areas, at a discount rate but in a large quantity. Instead of doing "one site for $50," do "ten sites for $500" instead.

Now your clients will all be people who want ten websites. People who want ten websites have generally developed a good way of consistently making websites profitable.

Pay careful attention to what they want and how each client's sites are similar - both to the same client's sites, and to your other clients' sites. Also note the differences.

As you work with these clients, you'll get a good feel for who is doing well and who is not. You'll also get a good sense of who will talk frankly about the business model for these sites. Ask questions and learn.

When you have a client who isn't doing well, and your conversations with successful clients have given you a pretty good idea WHY he's not doing well, make suggestions to help this client do better.

If you have an idea for how to improve the performance of sites, run it by your successful clients and see what they think.

In both cases, you will often get either a good explanation of why you shouldn't do something, or an opportunity to test your idea without any risk (or, on the other hand, any reward) to your own business.

Three or four months down the road, you'll have a solid education in building profitable websites.

Never take a job for the money, but for the experience. Work to learn.

    • As always, CDarklock, excellent advice. Too bad we cannot get a syndicated feed of your posts...

I agree. Use your skills as bait to learn from those who know how to make money.
  • Make a website about how to make a website, collect emails and then try and sell those people a product about how to make websites? In my opinion this is horrible advice..

The "how to build websites" niche is really competitive. Its competitive exactly because lots of people know how to build websites, cant think of anything better to create a website about, so they just create another website about how to create a website.

Not only is it competitive, but theres not much money in it. Most people searching for 'how to build a website" or "how to build a wordpress" site are looking for free info, not some paid e-book.. What could you possibly write about creating a website someone would want to buy that they can't already find for free?

So basically you guys are telling Jesse to create a website based on a topic that its going to be really hard to get any traffic to - and then somehow if he does manage to get any traffic for that topic, it's traffic that is never going to buy anything..

Wow.. talk about a recipe for failure...

My advice is not to go after what you know.. Go after something that has the potential to make money. Your just getting started right? So why not start small, get a victory under your belt and go from there.

I think you should build a website all about erlenmeyer flasks. If your a decent designer you can build a site thats better than the ones that are currently ranking in Google for this search term. You say you know SEO, so you should know how to get your new site ranked in Google for this search term. Sign up for AdSense and Amazon affiliates - monetize site..

When your done and making a little bit of money each month, have learned some more SEO stuff from the process you can then add more pages to your site, or start a new one with a more competitive term

Any how.. Thats just my thoughts..

    • There's no money in teaching people how to make websites?

I know Google local screws things up but when I search that term (erlenmeyer flasks) I get the top 2 results are Wikipedia followed by a bunch of shopping results. Even if you got the site up to just under the shopping results your underneath the fold of the page. Theres nearly 450,000 competing pages, 190k in phrased. It gets 200+ searches a day and according to Samurai you'd get about 90 hits a day if you were #1 but you won't be because Wiki's there with a stonking 74,600,000 backlinks. According to the SEO competition tab in Samurai the competition looks pretty strong though theres a weak site at #5.

Still I think he'd be better off utilising his web building skills than selling glass flasks.

  • Hi,
You aware of you why not, build and learn from it.....as you learn you will pick up all the seo techniques...

    All the Best
    Thanks

  • Maybe you can include other affiliate marketing products and put them together with those of Clickbank in a website. Then integrate the website with a Blog. Then start promoting the website using article marketing and other methods.

The key is promoting and selling what people want or need. If the products you promote are in demand, then you just need to drive traffic to them. Let people see them. That will result in profits.

    To your success.
