Who are you targeting? If its in the make money niche:
"Limited time: My personal guide to guaranteed profit"

Or something that even a skeptical user would want to see for them self.

This is a good subject for marketers. Thanks for posting this thread.

      1.) One Time Offers - (OTO's)
2.) One on one personal consultation time
      3.) Unlimited email support
      4.) Offering a rebate

Rebate, sounds interesting...Do you think that has the same effect on the clients mind as slashing the price? I would think it would be a little different.

If I was in the middle of a follow up to increase conversions for the product, and I sent out an email with a rebate (say for only 100 people) I think it would be looked at a lot different than if I suddenly slashed the price in half.

In fact, I think slashing the price like that may even devalue the product. But a rebate is sort of like a coupon.

This is something I have not considered.

I've had good success with the rebate offer. I actually send them a check in the mail after they have sent me an email receipt of purchase.

Another one that works well for me on a follow up after purchase email of one product, which is an email that says, Hi X, Just wanted to make sure you downloaded X without a problem... blah, blah, blah... I just wanted to let you know I appreciate your business, and if you're interested in investing in X (another one of my products that goes with something they just bought), I would like to offer you a 40% discount on this item. Then I tell them, "Don't purchase from the main site here, (and I give them the true URL where it is offered for 40% more), but use this link here where I have set up a special discount page just for you, (insert discount URL), etc.

I get a lot of upsells this way.

Another thing I do, I offer an affiliate commission for customers who refer a friend. These people have no idea how to do affiliate marketing, so they are not going to bother with figuring it out, but they love referring a friend and getting a check in the mail. I just ask them to let me know when a friend has purchased, and once I verify that they make a commission.

Hope that gives you some ideas.

            Great Ideas!

Ive also been using something a little similar.

I give them what I call the 48 hour bonus (Andrew Cavanagh's Idea)

After they order, and after the OTO I give them the option to buy something for a really good price, and tell them they are only getting it for this price if they act within the next 48 hours.

THEN...24 hours later I shoot them an email to remind them they only have 24 hours left. Works very well.

What works for me is promise of a price increase which you will have to fulfill of course.

It all comes down to scarcity, whether with time or number of units. People respond to scarcity.

The other factor is a trial period (14 days, 30 days, any time) for a low cost (like $1 or $3). People see the low initial outlay and hop on it. Frank Kern & Trey Smith did this with their Screw Google system with some nice success.
