Recently i've found some problem renewing a domain name(registrar eats my transactions and doesn't renew my domain) that domain have a nice amount of traffic (it is a free classifieds ads site)
and recently i ranked first in google for:
-free ads (yeah you heard that right ) over 600 000 searches a month
-freeads
-post free ads
-place free ads
-free business ads
and alot more heavy keywords.

my domain is actually expired and pending deletion and it seems that all my trials to call the admins and contact them was failed.

Good bye my Lover !!! (i mean my website of course)

    • Phone,mails
what else i can do ??
Here is a tip "NEVER REGISTER A DOMAIN WITH A REGISTRAR THAT SUCKS!!!"

i could easily sell that website for 20 000$ in flippa !!!
  • sorry to hear that... what is your registrar? also, have you tried to buy it through a different registrar by putting a bid on it so you can get it once it expires?
  • I'd be pretty mad to right now, that's serious bank. Sorry mate.
  • Honest, if you're serious I will help but I searched and wasn't able to easily identify your domain name. If you want to send it to me privately, send me email to kevin (at) dv8domains (dot) com . Tell me your domain name and I will do my best to approach different angles at recovery and help understand your situation.

Your situation sucks, but I've helped with such things before and if you know the inner workings of registrars as I do, it doesn't have to be too much of a challenge. You will have to stay on top of it but I can and will help.
  • Come on... You already seem quiting! Do what you can to get it back... Do not let this happen!... By the way where is their head office, man i will get FBI visit them and order them let me renew my domain before it is deleted...I mean you should not QUIT.

There must be some email, or phone or contact on their panel which cares you just need to get to that person... Yes it will take many failed tries but you do not know maybe it is your next email or call!!!

Good luck and hope you get it back soon!
    Mohsin
  • I would honestly look up who owns the domain name that your registrar is using and drive to the motherf*%#er at 3am to see why he's not answering my phonecalls. For all you know he may be getting it himself. Or his uncle Bob may be purchasing it.
  • Yeah thank you all for all your support!!
Will do everything to get it back!!
@Michael Mayo : will not quite, you are right it is pending deletion and sill not deleted!!
@Mohsin Rasool : tried everything to contact the admins but seems that they are not available,no email replies, phone is dead!!!

My last option will be to backorder my domain.

You didn't say ... who is the registrar?
  • Something isn't right about this story. I dont buy it.
  • Who is registrar?
Sorry, but this story is "hard to believe", what do you mean by "admins"?
    • [1] reply
    • yeah right !
  • Wow, that would be horrible. There must be something you can do to remedy the situation and get your domain back. Always remember, if a site is producing, make sure not to forget about domain renewals and webhosting...they can really bite you hard.

    • Yes, me too not buying this story....first, if I have a $20000 value domain, I will never wait until it's so close, I'll throw a $100 bucks and renew it for 10 years...

Second, even if it happens that way, I will never complain on the WF, I'll report them immediately to ICANN and start legal actions..this is my property and getting stolen...

Edit: ICANN Contact page http://www.icann.org/en/contact/ ....phone numbers for their offices around the world are there.

  • Yeah, who is the registrar, I don't wanna ever use them.
  • registar was n4me.eu
they are closed for now so they redirected me to a new panel where i can manage my domain.
it seems there is no one in there either.
@MilesT:why do you think i'm not saying truth?
  • They have certainly gone away. Either in chapter 11 (or the European equivalent) or just run away (more likely if there were any liquid assets at all). I would suggest getting an account at another registrar, and paying the back order fee so 30 days after it expires you'd be in line 1st. Hopefully no one has already done so. At some point, Icann will have to get involved and sort things out, they may just dump all expired domain into the available pool again as opposed to attempting to contact every one that expired just before or since n4me you's demise, if that info is even kept up by a company that probably knew time was short for 6+ months and might have not bothered with keeping up with little things like 'records'. (contacting Icann is another avenue I would at least try, though they are usually hard to get a hold of.)

    Good luck.

I don't know why you guys think this is fishy. Not the first time a flaky registrar has gone away leaving everyone's domains in jeopardy. Anyone remember Registerfly? What a fiasco.

    • Yeah... all to friggin well I am sorry to say lol
    • Possibly because it smells worse than a north sea trawler's changing room.

I'm no private detective, but on the surface of it

      1) At least since this post, no single site has ranked no 1 for all the terms
      -free ads
      -freeads
      -post free ads
      -place free ads
      -free business ads

Maybe the OP has Google's cookies feeding him a lie? Or maybe he's refering to another countries google but this is from Google.com

      2) The top three sites for any of these searches all have very different WHOIS profiles and server IP Ranges that just dont fit the pattern of the two sites the OP has listed in his Sig and the others you can find from a google search on his email.

I dont doubt that the poster is a real genuine person; I've read his posts on blackhatworld and he seems to be a genuine guy just trying to get ahead, like the rest of us here, but something doesnt smell right with this.

  • Wow, what an awful situation to be in, I certainly hope you get it sorted! I guess no company is 100% safe, but I try to stick with the bigger one's like GoDaddy and Namecheap in the hope that they stick around.

I hope you get your domain back!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • That's some serious detective work dv8domainsDotCom!
I thought I'd lost a domain name (fridgemagnets.com) because I forgot to renew and the email I used when I bought it 10 years ago I don't use any more. Then I got a phone call from a prominent domain purchaser asking to buy it. I told him it had expired. He told me I still had time to renew it. So I did. He wanted to save it from going to auction by contacting me directly and securing it. Bottom line though, even though it had "expired" I was able to save it, so you may have a bit more time than you think.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Yeah i may have time to save it!!
i'm really fighting to get it back!!!
  • I wish you luck my friend!!! Let us know if you are able to save it!
  • can you back order it from another domain?

    transfer it?

    do both, just in case...

    Sandra
  • That's a great suggestion Sandra!

    • Yah... Here is hoping you got a good backup!!!

  • That's really sad,
I can't help you but hope you get rid of this problem.
    Good luck!
  • Domain registrar horror stories...

I remember using a Tucows reseller as my registrar for a few domains...

If you were lucky, he'd see your email and reply to it within a week.

Payment was done through PayPal, period, and he sent you an invoice.

So if your domain was expiring, you had to notice yourself (no automatic notification), and email him about the domain you wanted to renew. About a week later, he'd tell you "okay, I'll send you an invoice." A couple days later, you'd get the invoice, pay it, and the money would disappear out of PayPal. Then, sometime next week, he'd email you and say "okay, your domain's renewed."

Which is when you would do a whois on the domain and make sure he ACTUALLY RENEWED IT instead of just meaning to do it later and forgetting.

We transferred our domains away from that guy after a couple years, but seriously, it took MONTHS to pry them away from him.
  • Did you get it back yet amen99?
  • Too bad wish you luck and all the best in the future and try to resolve your problem
  • Suzanne -

    1) I have an interest in this exact market and have been doing keywords searches on Market Samurai for a particular site for the terms "post free ads" and "free business ads" for about 6 months. The top sites are never the same for both searches.

    2)
My assumption is that if the poster is trying to renew it, it has only just expired.

From my experience, a site wont disappear from the SERPs immediately on entering into the redemption period (although in fairness it's getting quicker). I ran the search when the original post went up.

Like I said, Im no private detective. You said you didn't understand why people thought this was fishy - this is simply my take and the reason why I thought it was.

Hopefully I'm wrong, and giving people the benefit of the doubt will prove to be the best thing to do.
