Feel Like Ripping my Hair Out!!!!!!

INTERNET MARKETING

I created a WP Blog, got a virtual assistant to work on it for me....

he was sort of taking liberties, so I simply said I dont want you to work for this task anymore....

and hes gone and trashed my whole site!!!!!

Im seriously screwed now, im going crazy i dunno what to do!!!

I try to login to the wordpress admin section, and it says this.....

in fact the whole site is like that!! and I am working on a really important prject, and I just bursted into tears because all my hard work and energy is into this!!!

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /home/content/11/6765111/html/wp-content/themes/inove/functions.php on line 8

It looks like he has editted/deleted your functions.php file found in "/home/content/11/6765111/html/wp-content/themes/inove".

Check line 8 and see what he has edited, most likely he probably just added some random characters.

EDIT: If you can't figure out what he has done you might need to re-upload that exact same theme and try to change it within wordpress (if you can access that part of your site)

thanks @annoyingorange what is line 8?

I tried logging into wp-admin, and its doesnt work, same thing happens also I checked the ftp stuff, and wp-admin seems to be there, I really dont know what to do...

Because this site is really important to me...

  If you want to message me on here or on yahoo or skype I can try to help. I promise I wont trash your site and I wont charge you either I really hate it when people take advantage of others then do nasty things to them when they call them out. Wordpress happens to be one of my specialties

When you open the functions.php file the error is occuring on the 8th line down (that is where this idiot mucked up your code).

Anyway it looks like digitalfiz is willing to help you further.

Wow, I'm really sorry to hear about your misfortune with the VA. It's really unprofessional for him to trash your site like this. That's always a risk you have to take when dealing with outsourcers, especially if you're hiring them for a one-off job (i.e. they're not working full-time for you).

Don't ever trust anybody with your website if you can't find solid history on them.

I personally just find a trusted Warrior to do all my work for me... I would probably go bezerk if someone tried to ruin my work to save a few measly bucks.

Also, don't cheap out on hiring someone for your jobs. "Ethics" go out the window when people get mad online lol...

When an employee or contractor with sensitive access is released from a security-conscious firm, often their first inkling comes when they try to log in to the system or access a certain area and find that access is denied.

The lesson of the above is this: if you're going to stop working with someone who has enough access to trash your site(s), deny them access first. Then tell them.
