I know that some IMers outsource some of their work. But do some hire people to strictly write the content of their website? I don't mean writing articles or blogs, I mean an actual website. I can do everything else, I just hate writing. I'm a transcriptionist, I transcribe what other people say, I don't come up with the stuff.

After all my searching and contemplating on what I want to do in IM I have finally come up with an idea. But writing is not my thing. Sure, I can write content in forums, but to write a long description on one topic or more than one topic, I'd rather have someone else do it for me.

I don't know if I am making any sense or not. But your suggestions are definitely welcome.

Sounds like you are searching for a Web Copywriter. Someone who will compose the actual content for your site...

  • My personal opinion on where you are is that you should use what you are writing in the forums and try and make a longer post out of that. If people are agreeing with what you are saying in the forums it is probably worth putting it on your website. Maybe even try and tell your story with your problems you have overcome and how you did that. You are then teaching people from your mistakes!

Just a thought... Otherwise get yourself a web copywriter as said above.

On another note we share the same surname! That makes us both cool

You can also find great content from articles and just change it up to your liking. So you wouldn't have duplicate content. Duplicate content is not what you think

You aren't alone in not wanting to write your own content. Around 95% of the websites we have provided for clients contain not one word of client supplied copy.

This used to surprise me because I assumed that the one subject people could happily rattle off reams of text content about, would be their specialist subject - their business.

However that is far from the case. The majority don't expect to provide their own content at all.

Yes, certainly. I've done both entire and partial site contents for people.

People have different strengths and skills, and outsource different stuff: I can't put up a decent-looking website with all the stuff on it that I want without some technical help, myself.

(I'm not taking on any new clients at all, at the moment, so not posting "looking for work"! But always happy to make recommendations after knowing a lot more detail; do send a p.m. if I can help/advise you).
