Or 2 dollars a question

Thank you,

- Eric

Also if you have a form of instant messaging that would be great

Questions:

#1 Absolute value of x over x so lim x-> 0
lxl
x

#2 Find the average rate of change of the function y=xsquared - lnx over the interval [1,e] round your answer to the nearest 100th

#3 Find the equation of the tangent line to the curve f(x)= radical 3-x-xsquared at the point where x = 1
#calculus
  • Sorry, I laughed. I am currently taking a math class, but I havent started calculus yet. There are some people in my class taking it though, I bet they would be suprised someone would actually pay them on a per question basis. Lol, I should start pimping out my classmates.

Thankfully no.....I'm happy to have forgotten Calculus long ago.

Good luck finding someone. There are TONS of tutor sites online...have you tried those?

If it's simple calculus, I can do it. If it's advanced (Calculus II or III) I
probably will have some serious problems with it. I'm a bit rusty on the
            really advanced stuff.

                      Yeah. What he said.

Hey--Has anyone read "A Separate Peace"? I can pay $10 to someone who can answer the question:

                  Starting to feel rusty too.

I still remenber what the first and second derivatives could tell you about curves, but it's a very long time since I last needed to find those derivatives. Suppose I would have to take a quick look at how it was done.

On the positive side; I'm one of those prehistoric creatures that went to primary school before the age of the electronic calculators, so I don't need my cell phone in place to do ordinary calculations.

Calculus? I can't even remember what it is, never mind how to do it. One of those use it, or lose it things. A mind is a terrible thing to Lose, I can tell you from personal experience

If they're basic questions, you could simply paste them here.

Though this thread will probably be moved to the Off-Topic forum, but you could get some great help there.

    cheers

    Wow, that brings back memories!

Unfortunatly not the memories that contain the answers...just the questions.

Sorry I can't be of help!

One thing I learned with calculus, though, if you don't learn and understand this level, then the next level up will be a nightmare. You can get left behind REAL quick.

If this is your own work, then it'd be worth talking to your teach/lecturer about it, and see if you can nail the theory down now before it gets even harder.

    cheers

Very, very wise words from Sam.

@cires123: calculus isn't going to get any easier -- if you can't understand it at this stage, you either need to commit yourself to catching up, or walk away from the course. Getting others to do your homework isn't a long term solution.

Luckily for you, 'user-friendly' books are now out there that weren't available when I was learning calculus:

Sorry to sound so negative, but the truth is you just can't blag your way through calculus.

    1) the answer is: not exist.
    2) y = 2*x-1/x (I think so, not sure 1/x part, you need check).
    3) f'(x) = 2^(3-x-x^2)*ln(3-x-x^2)*(-1-2*x), when x = 1, f'(x) = 2*ln(1)*(-3) = 0;

these are from my memory, not sure it is correct.

please do NOT ask these kind of questions any more. if it is your homework (I guess it is), do your homework.

    good luck

Not that I mind it being posted here - remembering calculus
brings back fond memories. Unfortunately I barely remember
dydx - if that's even the right notation...

But wouldn't you have better success trying in a math
forum. I did a quick check - it appears there are many.

One I looked at said "not for getting homework answers."
Your questions look like homework questions.

But there is one forum that I saw that didn't have a big
notice against posting things that look like homework
      questions:

      http://www.mathhelpforum.com/math-help/calculus/

Maybe they can help you out.

Of course, if it is for homework, you're really cheating
yourself because math understanding builds on earlier
knowledge. But that's between you and the Fates.

      Regards,
      Bal
