What Style of Membership Would You Go For?

If you landed on the sales page of a membership site, would you feel more comfortable signing up if the sales letter was presented in a "We" format or an "I" format?

In other words, "We" represents a team of people behind the scenes (more resources and manpower) and therefore less personal whereas "I" represents an individual with more care and attention to his customers but less backup behind the scenes.

Which would you feel more comfortable subscribing to for an IM product/subscripion?

  • me personally..i would more likely join a membership website that appeared to have more than one person running it. why? simply because it gives me the impression of professionalism.

one thing you can do is when saying 'we' is address the website as a community (if it is that). for example if the warrior forums was a membership sales page when you first start off. would you prefer the owner talking to you representing him self and his credibility or him address the forum as 'we' as in a community? i personally would prefer the community sales pitch over the personal sales pitch.

    just my opinion

"We" gives the impression that the company is bigger, and people tend to prefer bigger companies. In general, "we" is definitely better than "I" in this context.

It would make no difference to me at all. There are plenty of sites run by individuals that provide plenty of value.

It's more about what you have to offer and if I'm interested in it.

Doesn't matter. As long as the sales copy and benefits appeal to ME and helps ME the customer.
