Were to sell modified PLR ebooks?

Let's say you purchased a PLR ebook and modified it a bit (changed title, content, graphics, etc.).

What's the best way to sell it?

Would a single sales page work or do you need to create an entire blog or website around it?

First off, that's smart and you're on a very productive track.

Single sales page is probably the best way to go. Don't invest the time and energy in a whole blog or site unless there's interest in it. You can modify another PLR product in less time than it takes to build a big promotional site for this one, so don't waste a lot time promoting harder for something that isn't selling.

Thanks. We'll see how smart I am once I do or don't make any money

I understand your reasoning about the single sales page, but once it's up and running, what's the fastest way to bring traffic? To be honest, I'm not all that fond of article writing and submitting.

Fastest? PPC and other paid options. Ad swaps, solo ads, banners, free WSOs to build your list, etc.

Alternately, hire someone to write and submit your articles, so you don't have to; darylimj here is excellent for the writing, the submitting I don't know about. I'm a control freak and always want to do that part myself.

Are you wanting to sell it as a product or sell it as PLR?

Is it in the IM niche or outside?

These two things will determine A LOT.

P.S. And as the gentlemen above said...

First off, that's smart and you're on a very productive track.

I haven't actually chosen a PLR product yet. I'm still flushing out the marketing ideas first. But I was originally thinking of selling it as an original product to the public. But do you think it would be easier and more profitable to sell it as a PLR instead?

As for the niche, I'm trying to stay away from the IM market. Seems like everyone and their brother is competing there. But, if there's room, I wouldn't be against it.

Okay, so since you're not sure yet, let me give you some scenarios...

    1. If you go niche...

I would recommend going into a niche that is proven to sell digital products. Doing a little research on ClickBank (I use CBEngine.com because of better search functions) will tell you what niches are doing well.

Once you pick your niche, then I would find 3-5 products that are within the same niche. Set them all up as separate products on their own domain names. I would then create a squeeze page and use additional PLR to create a killer free offer to give away from the squeeze page.

Create autoresponder messages that sell the products you have created but mostly give tons of value to the reader. There is an art to this. You for sure want to sell, but people buy from people they like, and the easiest way to make people like you in the virtual world is to give them lots of what they want for free. The art to that is giving, but also leaving room for selling.

    2. Go the IM route...

I would do much like above, but would put a lot more effort into making the content unique. Things like turning ebooks into video tutorials will always get you more sales.

I would again do 3-5 products. All of them I would put on an instant commission affiliate program (RAP script or LFM script are great for this) because it will be easier to get people to promote.

I would do a few as 100% commission products to build your list. That way you can also add some affiliate marketing to increase your income. The other products I would do at like 60% commission so you can make some money with the products too.

Now there's a lot more you can do here too like having upsells on on products for more income.

Now you asked about editing PLR products a bit and then selling them as PLR...

I would NOT do this. People in the money making niche are big time PLR buyers and if you aren't giving original quality stuff you wont last long.

In my opinion there's absolutely nothing wrong with creating products out of PLR products as giveaway products or products you give master resell rights to, but if you are selling PLR make it original.

    Hope that helps...

As for traffic...Instant/fast traffic is traffic you have to pay for. Unless... You can get someone to promote your product who can bring you the buyers.

Everything else are just a conglomerate of long term tactics that are based on SEO.

That's my simple break down of traffic.

After you modify the PLR and compile it into another product that is the ONE thing you can do for sure no questions asked i.e. as you said "sell it not as PLR but keep all the rights to ourselves"

Most other "rights" are spelled out by the person who created the PLR. Rights range from, "You can do as you please with this," to "You can't do anything with this except sell it to others." and any and all rights in between that you can think of as stated by the creator of the PLR.
