PLR vs MRR vs 100% Affiliate Commission? What would you do if it was your product?

A partner and I have been selling a handful of very successful offline marketing products over the last few months. We have recently been considering offering rights to our entry level product, either private label, master resale, or even creating a 100% commission program.

So the question is, in your opinion, what is the best option for a product owner? Our concerns are protecting the content as much as possible while allowing widespread distribution to increase awareness of our brand, other products we offer, and driving traffic to a new forum we have created in this niche.

If you want to offer master resale or PLR, you'll lose a certain amount of control

However, you can password protect the PDF content so you ensure that your links/brand stay intact even if it is distributed.

These are important considerations for anyone starting in MRR and/or PLR products. Neither option is better per se. It is a question of what you are trying to achieve and which route will serve your aims best.

Can the product be "sub-divided so there's a way to do all three?

With so little info it's really hard to give any detailed suggestions, but the more options for affiliates that also work for you the better.

You can offer it as Basic Resell Right license, it means others can sell your products as is, and their costumers only gets the personal use right only

My gut instinct is to offer it as an affiliate program. Also put a link to the website inside the material you are selling. This way you spread the word about your site and you get other people to do it for you.

100% commission. You keep the product, you keep the opt-ins, and the only thing your affiliates get is the money. Do an OTO upsell with a 60% commission and you'll get some money from it, too.

I definitely vote for 100% commission. As a product owner it means you get more leads and as an affiliate it means you get less hassle (since the vendor has to take care of supporting it). Everyone wins.

Go the 100% commission route but set a free offer first through simple squeezepage, this way you will get far more subscribers opting-in and then give the 100% commission on the back end product, you can (as Caliban said) offer an upsell too.

This will give you a far bigger list and give you far more leverage if looking to do adswaps with other marketers or if you want to sell a solo ad to generate more income.

I use PaySpree.com - The Instant Commission Affiliate Marketing Network really quick and easy.

    Good Luck

We've been discussing this quite a bit lately (and rightly so, it's an awesome way to go)...

Go the 100% commission route, and here's two schools of thought on it...

    1) Low priced 100% comm products will get the people who buy the products to promote it. They generally don't have big lists to mail it too, but they'll probably send it to a few friends and that can have really high conversions

    2) Create a $47 product that's 100% comm. The reason to do that would be, you'll be able to get bigger affiliates to mail. Many won't even look at $17 product (even if they get all the money) but $47 is another matter. Plus now you're building a list of people who don't mind spending more money, so you'll be able to charge more in the future too. The only catch with this is - if you sell the product for $47 , it should be worth $97. The over-deliver is how you're going to get people to come back and buy more.

Both these options are sound, work incredibly well and there is no reason you can use both options in your business. However, regarding the "catch" I don't see it as a catch at all, its just the way products are/should be sold.

Even if your offer is a $7 dollar product it should still offer two or three times the value being spent. Over delivering is not exclusive to only higher priced products.

Thanks everyone for the input. Looks like most of you are leaning to 100% affiliate program.

    Hmm,
All very good thoughts 100% commissions definitely can attract affiliates if the product is converting.

But here is my 2 bits.

Offering a product you own with the right to resell that product, does not take away from your ownership or control in fact it does the opposite it allows for you to keep control of the product itself.

It provides different avenues of promotion because everyone uses their own methods to drive sales and traffic thereby getting your product in the hands of many and your brand before eye balls. To offer a product with reselling rights can be a basic license like
    no can be given away
    no can sell resale rights
no can sell master resale rights
yes can be sold as is
yes includes sales page graphics and thank you page
Violation of any of these terms will result in this license being revoked
something that allows for folks to make money, get your product out to avenues you could not and You get the cash. your links are in the product not anyone else's thereby driving traffic back to you through others efforts

    That is my own thought.
    Cheers

Not to steer this off topic, but what program do you all use to give 100% commission?

Rapid Action Profits and Nanacast for me.

I use nanacast more (it integrates with Powerpay, my merchant account).

Rapid Action Profits allows instant 100% commissions, directly and immediately to the affiliates paypal account.

It's the coolest thing on the planet if you ask me.

There is only 1 minor draw back with RAP - if your affiliate refuses to refund.

If they do that though, you can cut them out of your affiliate program.

If you can get some good affiliates go with that option. And affiliates like 100% commission, for sure.

And if you are wanting to protect the content as much as possible PLR would definitely be out although Master Resale Rights would not be so bad.

In my opinion, you'd probably have the best luck with the 100% affiliate program, though.

Yes, but here is a better idea . . . If its unrestricted PLR you can rewrite it some and change the ebook graphics and the mini-site graphics, change the title (with the new cover and rewrite) and TA-DA you have your 'own' product.

Now, to the OP. Why not try a combination of the two most popular replies.
Offer the product with 100% commission with a OTO for the Resell Rights for like 50% commission. . .

Just a few ideas, hope it helps
