Could any of my fellow warriors please check out the site in my sig and tell me if my Geo script is working properly in the U.S.

    It's working here in Louisiana. Pulled my City and State quite well, and I live in a very small city (population under 2500).

    These scripts usually pick the nearest larger city near me. So, yes it is working correctly here.

      Not sure how "close" you are looking for...but off about 300 miles here in my part of Oregon.

      I'm in Southern Oregon---not too far above the Cal border and your script shows me just below Portland.

        Well, I guess it's fairly close (closer than some of the others are seeing). It's showing me in a town about 20 miles away on the other side of the county.

    I apparently live in Broken arrow oklahoma.. I have no idea where that is??? I live in stroud btw..

    Speaking of, how are you giving away free cards? Is it due to cpa offers and then you buy the cards?

        Nice to hear that. The annoying thing is that somtimes it loads fast and other times it takes ages. Does anyone know of a better script? Perhaps a paid version?

      I am using incentive offers. I split my affiliate commission with chooseyourfreebie.com site members in the form of points which they can redeem for just about anything. The yugioh site is obviously giving away Yugioh cards.

      On another note, do you guys in the U.S recommend I ditch the the GEO script? It seems to be a tad inaccurate.

      Seems to work fine in Canada though.

    Worked great for me. Nailed the city/state about 8 miles away, which is the same as any other geo tracking I've ever seen used.

    Well, physically it missed me - by one city and about 3 miles. But based on where my IP is issued it nailed it today. Geocoding is done by IP - not by browser location so it will mostly be close.

    However, like Cindy - it tool almost 12 seconds to load your page. I'm using Firefox.

    ps also, what technology are you using to do the geocoding? is it something on your server or does it make a call to another server? -which might explain the delay some of us are seeing. Pretty interesting stuff so I'd like to check out the technology.
