Camtasia Audio Experts

Hello dear warriors,

I am having trouble producing camtasia videos. Everything goes fine besides a lot of back ground noise.

The product is based on 3 videos, the intro about 6 minutes long, then a 10 minute video followed by 30 minute final video.

I've managed to get decent quality audio on the first two by manually removing noise through camtasia 'audio enhancements' but the third won't seem to go away.

Since it is the longest video, plus I've already done 2 takes in the hope I'll get it right this time, I really can't be asked to re-record it as that doesn't even seem like a reasonable solution.

Any tips?

I'm not familiar with playing around with the 'advanced options' such as the Gain, Threshold(dB) or the Ratio. May be the solution lies there?

Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Maddi,

What are you using to record the audio?
USB headset will work much better than 1/8" jack stuff.

Also, you might try to "level" all of the clips together before you remove the noise.

Lance is right. The quality of the article is going to be determined by the microphone you are using. I used a Logitech USB microphone for a very long time and it produces high-quality audio. I now use a professional microphone going through a USB preamp.

That's a produces stellar quality audio.

Christian: No I did the audio With the screen capture so its all one camrec camtasia file.

I find it easier to do both in one go, never did a voice over separately. Although if I need be, I can unlink the audio from video and then export it out of camtasia to give you only the audio.

Lance: yea thanks man. will definitely get one.

By the way, after this product the next step is start doing webinars and I'm definitely looking into webinarcrusher that you did with Robert. Looks AWESOME!
