Tracking Opt-In Rates with iContact - Best Practices?

I am migrating from aweber to icontact (for several reasons not part of this conversation).

But, one thing I liked about aweber was the built-in opt-in tracking for forms.

iContact doesn't have this.

Question:

How do/would you best track opt-in rates for squeeze pages if you don't have it built in?

I would assume using google analytics, right? Mind sharing your process or steps?

Cheers,

    JP,
I have an account with iContact and we track opt-in rates via Google Analytics.

Basically, you want to setup a Goal in GA.

Make sure the redirect page and confirm page are tagged.

Basically, your funnel would look like this in GA:

Squeeze Page > Opt-In Redirect > Confirmed Page

This way, you can see both the submissions as well as the confirmations (if you are doing Double Opt-In)

If you want to split test forms, just use a 1x1 pix tracking img with the GA tracking for each version...this way you can test the results of one version over another.

    Clear as mud?

    Hope this helps,
    Jack Duncan
