e-junkie --> AWeber list - Should I use Confirmed Opt-in?

I've decided to go the e-junkie - PayPal - AWeber route.

My question is to those who have actually done something like this, should I use Confirmed Opt-in for my AWeber list? I'm not looking for what AWeber thinks. I'm looking for some input from experienced marketers.

    I have it setup so that my buyer's have to confirm, and I think my confirmation rate is at 65%.

    I have not tested single optin, nor have I tried putting a form on the thank you page. I doubt you'll get close to 65% with these options, but I could be very wrong.

    You don't have a choice. Aweber will send out a confirmation email first.

    The only way you can have single opt-in is when they subscribe through a form.

      Well, he actually does have a choice. He can also put a form on the Thank You/Download Page with single-optin.

          Basically, you can set it up like you have it now, where it uses their registered Paypal address and sends it to Aweber to parse onto your list. The only problem that you run into with this method, is that you might get an email address that they only use for Paypal.

          Your other option, is placing an optin form ABOVE their product download link. Don't force them to optin to receive their download, I don't think that's right. From here you can go single or double optin. I still recommend using double optin, and have the form be an optin for "Product Updates." Make sure to actually send them updates, but you can also use it to send them other mail, just don't get too crazy.

        Yeah that's what I said, but I thought he was talking about integration with the Aweber parser.

            None of AWeber's email parsers run on single-optin lists. You have to do confirmed-optin to use any of them.

    I'd go with the confirmed optin, you'll get slightly less signups but also less Spam complaints.
