Affiliate/referral links for products... one quick question

INTERNET MARKETING

Sorry to ask this stupid question but I know very little about affiliate/referral links. I found a couple of products that I recommend in my ebook but I don't know if I can make money on referring those products (not all of them are typical products you would find on ebay etc.) - is there a list/page on the internet I can search or do I have to contact each shop to get those links? Thanks for you help

Usually if there is an affiliate program there will be a small link to it somewhere on the site, probably at the bottom. If not, do a WHOIS search to find out who owns the site and ask if they have an affiliate program.

  There is usually an affiliate sign up page.
  
  This page is usually in this format.
  
  www.URLofAffiliateProduct.com/affiliate.htm
  
  This page has information to sign up and become an affiliate for that product. If you are lucky the page has tools too such as banners, keywords, articles, blog posts etc.

Also look for a link that says "partner with us" or contact them at their contact address. Many times a product does offer an affiliate program, but the link to sign up isn't obvious.

Hit up clickbank.com and you can learn the basics from the biggest affiliate company in the world.

Thanks to all of you and sorry for my late response! I really appreciate your help.

I thought that there were sites where you could search for company names, product names etc. and then you would get all the codes/links in one go... There are plenty of sites that sells the same brand of vitamins (just to give an example) - it would be nice to be able to compare how much you would get from each site from referring similar products. I guess I have to contact each site then. Thanks once again!
