I know adwords OK, I've read Perry Marshall's book and hired a guy to coach me for about 5 sessions.

Recently someone suggested Adwordsppc.com which is supposedly overseen and owned by AM Kahn, an adwords Guru.

They charge $399/mo. for Google search network AND content ads too

Do you guys think this is worth the price? Should I just do it myself?

I'm just starting my project off and haven't had any sales yet.

If they offer u good results, then I think their price is justified. Else I think adwords is not that simple or that tough.
It just requires time, efforts and anticipation.

If you can afford the expense it can be worth it to have a big firm handle your ppc. They will check things all the time and know a LOT more tricks to getting your adwords spend down. Also if things go south with Google for you, like you get banned for a simple mistake, Google is a lot more likely to pick up the phone when they call.

Search ads are becoming too expensive. And if you outsource, you may spend fortunes. A good alternative is to advertise on sites that rank high for your terms (using adwords). You can automate everything with a tool like cheap traffic equalizer. Good luck.

Thanks guys. London you make some good points about then having more access to Google's reps and know tricks about lowering costs.

The guy I spoke to is supposedly very good, but perhaps not so great a sales man. His main point seemed to be that they could save me time and energy, which really are quite worthless to me.

What I want to hear that this guy knows his **** way better than me, and maybe he does but he wasn't very willing to say it. He just kept on telling me to watch these videos on their site (which I feel were lame plugs).

How many hours of Adwords management do you get for this price? Do they constantly optimize your campaign and bids, do they weed out low-performing keywords continually, and so on. If you are going to pay $399 per month you need to make sure you get your money's worth.

On the other hand, if you have a huge range of products on your site $399 per month doesn't give the company a lot of time to work on your campaign.

If you only have a single product and the number of relevant keywords is low, it may not be worth it at all. You could instead get a consultant to optimize your campaign one time, and manage it yourself from then on.

A good Adwords consultant will also be able to tell you if the problem is your website and whether or not you should start off by investing in a better sales process rather than Adwords. The fact that you are not seeing sales may not have anything to do with your campaign.

These are just a few considerations -- there are a lot of unknown variables here, and it really isn't possible to give a good answer unless you provide more details about your website, budget, etc.

It completely depends on your advertising spend. Most PPC companies charge between 10 & 15% of your monthly spend for their fee. In our agency we charge 15% on top of click spend as a general rule with a 350 pound minimum fee. We try to work at a rate of 70 pounds per hour. So for 350 pounds you should get 5 hours worth of work per month. Of course this varies and the work we need to do is done regardless.

I think if you are going to use an agency you should probably choose a local agency so you can have face to face meetings and good telephone contact.

Think about what your profit margin is with your adwords campaigns and how that extra fee each month would affect that margin. There is definitely a lot of value in using PPC agencies but they are not suitable for every campaign.
