Ezine TOS vs linking to a sales page, please explain

Hi,
Can someone please explain me what is allowed in Ezine Articles in regards to linking to a sales copy. Ezine TOS says:

Affiliate links will be allowed if the link is a domain name you own which forward/redirects to the affiliate link from the top-level of the domain name. For example, it is permissible to forward to an affiliate link from:

your-company-name.com

...but it would not be permissible to forward to an affiliate link from:

your-company-name.com/page.html
your-company-name.com/subdirectory/
your-company-name.com/subdirectory/page.html
sub-domain.your-company-name.com

If I own a domain like this:

your-company-name.com

but it is one page website with sales copy only, can I link to it from Ezine?:confused:

    Yes you can link to a sales page at your-company-name.com.

    Lets say you are affiliate for the program. You can purchase a domain affiliatedomain.com and have it redirected straight to the site your-company-name.com. What you can't do is to do a straight redirect from the site in the form of affiliatedomain.com/your-product.html or any other subdirectory or sub domain.

    If you want to have the article link to affiliatedomain.com/your-product.html then you have to put some content (review, description etc) on the page and then have a link on that page that can go to the merchant site.

    What you posted above has to do with straight redirects. Some affiliates buy domain names which goes directly to the merchant site without having content on the actual domain bought. It's cases like these where EzineArticles don't want people linking from a subdirectory or subdomain.

      kevin - thanks for explaining that. For awhile I thought that you could only use ezinearticles straight to a domain no matter what - and I had always done that but then I thought that I remembered that people refer to subdomains and squidoo lenses all the time. I then wondered what the real rule was.
