How IM is like religion....
Don't worry Warriors. I'm not going to preach here but I had an interesting event that made me think about some things and thought I'd share it with you.
I was at a fellowship meeting at my church and the topic of discussion was discipleship. When the pastor was asking some questions, the answers were exactly like Internet Marketing. Examples below....
Why do some people believe in God but do NOT do any kind of discipleship? The gist of the answer that we agreed on was the believing in God is the easy part. Spreading the Word about God isn't as easy and requires some committment and knowledge. You need to KNOW God before you can BE like God.
Isn't this true for IM? We all believe that it is possible to make money online but DOING it requires knowledge and committment in some way. The hard part is doing it, not just believing it. Same with IM...
Another question was what transformation takes place when someone that believes in God decides to do some discipleship? In religion, your answer will be spiritual growth and leading by example with your Godly ways and habits.
This is like IM because once you take action and put some things in motion, a transformation happens to the marketer. You start seeing some results, your belief in it grows bigger, and you want to spread the good news (affiliates).
Another point was made at this meeting that reminded me of IM. Someone said that it is very easy to get distorted or inaccurate information about discipleship and the Word so one needs to actually READ the Word to KNOW the Word.
This reminded me of IM because we all have read hundreds of eBooks and have had information overload. We could easily get distorted views or inaccurate information about internet marketing. To avoid this, we go to the Word. The Word in this case are things like the Warrior Forum. This Forum is the Word about making money online.
Your lack of sales may be the Word. They tell the truth about your efforts ultimately. Smart marketers will resort to the Word (whatever their Word is) and make changes to improve.
I just thought it was interesting how the answers about believing God and doing His work were so related to Internet Marketing. As a beginner, it is a little bit of blind faith when you just jump in and take action. That was my experience at least. My belief system grows each day as I learn and tweak to get better results for my online business. This holds true with my relationship with God also.
