If you've never failed...you've never lived

Just came upon this again today - good reminder that we shouldn't be expecting to succeed spectacularly on our first try or even several tries.

Very, very true. It's what we take away from our failures that make us who we are. There's always something to be learned, and we would never end up where we do if we hadn't taken the paths that we do along the way.

Failures are often depressing, but pick yourself up and start on the next thing! Throw enough mud at the wall, something will stick!

Time ago I had a great boss who always was (or seemed to be) very quiet and having everything under control. Whenever one of us or he himself commited a mistake, he used to say: "Well, we are here to learn". He never yelled at us... he was a true leader in our company.

Nowadays I live with the same principle. Every time I fail at something I think what I can learn about it and take action to fix my strategies, behaviour, etc. And I always remember this: Winners never quit. And those who quit never win.

I think the best thing to do is take videos like this and have a positive outlook on life. Yes we all have to deal with failure, but we have to hang in there and not give up.

It is like going to work, and having a bad boss who you might not like. But somehow we put a brave face and work our asses off. Same with Internet Marketing - never give up and keep going...its like climbing a huge mountain.

      I agree with everything here.

Failure and the way you look at it in a positive light leads to success.

It's very rarely you try something for the first time, without practise and succeed. If you do most call it beginners luck. Which to me means you probably have to fail at least once in anything hard or worthwhile to succeed.

I've failed loads but I'm doing OK. Never giving up, as Imran says, I think is the key.

Excellent reminder of what it takes to be a success.

I got attracted by this thread title. I myself have failed more than I could count. It's not a good feeling, but I learned a lot from it. Besides, failure is an unavoidable risk if you want to be succeed

  • Thank you for sharing this great video.
Indeed if you don't dare you'll definitely loose out in the end. For normal human beings (as opposed to computer programs) success usually comes after one or more failures. Successful business people learn by trial and error and over time build up their expertise. You can turn failure into success by reflection and learning from your mistakes.

If you look back in history, even the most successful people had hundreds of failures before they succeeded, look how many failure Edison had before he got the light bulb right, it is through our mistakes which we are guided to the right path, the path to success.

I've certainly been through my fair share of that, but its only really failure if you give in. Really you should Pivot:

Here's what Napoleon Hill had to say about failure:
"Before success comes in any man's life, he's sure to meet with much temporary defeat and, perhaps some failures. When defeat overtakes a man, the easiest and the most logical thing to do is to quit. That's exactly what the majority of men do. "

Personally I screwed up for a few years before getting it right. Here's my condensed story...
