UK Apprentice finalist in serious trouble!

Not sure how many UK warriors saw Watchdog show tonight on UK Apprentice finalist hosting womens networking meetings which involved everyone giving her a few thousand in exchange for outline of how to recruit family and friends to give them money and do the same. In other words an illegal cash gifting scheme - although she refutes it is illegal for networks to 'exchange' money, trading standards and legal advisors say it is and she could face prison if she continues.

      I saw this on TV tonight as well.... I got the impression she just simply didn't know the law, because she was really into it and really believed it. Bless her!

        Yes she was either incredibly stupid or just so pig headed. She suggested the bbc had brought in people to say their point of view even though they asked independant government bodies and showed 2 law acts that she could be done under.

      Hey Floyd,
      They have a video of each episode but it looks like tonights won't be available until later this week (you might need a proxy to view it!).

    Seems like a very big mistake on her part. The article Imran linked to said something interesting however...

      Yes she quoted this at her seminar. I believe that fact may actually be true - just not by scamming people like she is.

        Off to watch it now. Thanks. That's not a new scheme. I remember a similar one, for women, doing the rounds probably around 12 years ago. I knew someone that got caught up in it. We were all aghast. Inflation has taken it's toll, I seem to recall it was around £2k to buy in then.
