Hello,

I have written an ebook and I am sure it will be helpful to many IMers. I will be releasing a WSO in few days, I am having a doubt. Whether I should make some review copies available after launching the WSO or before doing it?

Hope the people who already have launched some WSOs will be able to help me out with this, this is my first WSO and I am a bit nervous

Making them available before launching the WSO will frequently get you a short ban for promoting an upcoming WSO.

So, too, will asking too-detailed questions about your WSO before you start it. Referring to your product as "an ebook" is probably okay; any more detail than that, and it might be seen as self-promotional.

If I were you, I'd go ahead and start the WSO, giving out a limited number of review copies that people request in the thread. Once the review copies are given out, slap a price tag on it and start selling.

I would do it before. It's always good to post some reviews in your wso when it launches. Just contact some warriors on here and ask if they would be interested in reviewing your ebook.

      Here's what you can do...

      (a): If I want to get 10 reviews, I'll e-mail my list, with the following;

      "Hey Everyone,

I'm launching [PRODUCT NAME] tomorrow, I really want to get the opinions of some of my previous buyers on this new [report/video]. If you are interested in getting a free copy, and telling me what you think; please hit me with a reply.

In your reply, be sure to mention that you'll leave a review tomorrow when it launches, so I can make sure you get a copy. I will only be giving 10 away.

      Thanks.

      [YOUR NAME]"

I just wrote that up quickly. You would want it to probably be a little bit more personal to the Warrior.

(b): If you want to Private Message Warriors, find out who is IN that strand of Internet Marketing, and see whether they have ever reviewed other products. For these types of people I would just send them this kind of PM:

      "Hey,

I see that you are the go to person when it comes to [BLANK]. I'm releasing a WSO on this topic... Would you mind leaving a review? Again, sorry to bother you, just thought you might be interested".

If you already know the Warrior, and they've Pm'd/talked to you before, I would say something like...

      "Hey [There Name],

How have you been? I was wondering if you'd review a new product of mine [TOPIC].

      your Name".

(C): Contact people that you know.

I would go to Skype, and just ask some of my buddies if they would mind leaving me a review.

(D): Offer review copies in your thread. I don't like doing this because of the amount of new Warriors, who will ask for review copies. I would rather reward established marketers.

What I do is ask my skype buddies for reviews of the book.

Most people will ask their list. Some will turn it into the war room and collect reviews from that thread.

Don't ask for a review - ask for honest feedback. And if you're smart, you'll do the first couple in private and not have them post in the thread. Why? Because what if they don't like it? Or give you an idea that can improve the product a lot before launch?

If you get constructive criticism, fix it up and then give those people an updated copy. Then give that one out if you feel the need to offer review copies.

Personally, I wouldn't offer review copies in the thread. Give it to a few people you know before the launch and if they give you good feedback, ask them if you can quote them in the copy.

Write directly in your copy that you had some people take a look at it to make sure you had covered what you wanted to and this is what they had to say.

A review given by someone who didn't pay for the product doesn't need to be in the thread, really. People tend to discount those to a certain degree, anyway, unless you get a reviewer who is highly trusted and well known on the boards.

Yes, the cost of each WSO offer is now $40.

If you have a list, send review copies to your list (offer free review copies to the first 10 to reply or first 15 or whatever) you can also get review copies from other marketers via facebook/twitter etc.

One of the best ways is to release it in the War Room as a free report (do not mention WSO, or you get banned for preselling/promoting upcoming WSO), you don't need to ask for reviews at all, people usually write very nice reviews if it's a good product anyway.

I regret not doing this for my WSO, I didn't know they demanded reviews that badly before buying! Anyways you should be able to get a bunch of decent reviews from the respected warriors in the war room. If the product needs improvement/lacking stuff, they will tell you that too (I did this with my subscribers and some marketer friends) that is what the review is for. Then you can fix whatever needs to be fixed before launching it to public.

My best advice here is (again I am guilty of not doing it myself... but I know better now!) make a watered down, free version of your product, or make some other free report in the same or similar topic as the WSO, and release this as a free WSO to build your list. If it's good stuff, it should get you a decent amount of warrior subscribers.

Then you can offer free review copies to your list (they will love you for it and will buy from you next time cause you have been such a nice person giving out free copies of an upcoming paid WSO) and get reviews from your subscribers.

    I hope this helps!
