iPhone and Droid App for Warrior Forum

I wanted to take a quick poll on everyone here regarding potentially designing a Warrior Forum app for both iPhone and Android devices. I am just getting into the business of designing apps for mobile devices, and I thought this might be of interest to fellow IM'ers who are on WF. Basically it would connect to Warriorforum.com and display content in a Phone friendly format, and streamline replying to posts, etc. Basically much better than just going to WarriorForum.com on your mobile browser.

I don't know about you, but I see a lot of value in it (and I can see the folks who are addicted to WF using it a lot - just like they would a FaceBook app on their phone).

My questions:

If you have an iphone or droid, would you download and use this app?

and

If there was a fee associated with it, such as a one-time fee of $2.99 or $4.99, would you pay it to have this app?

Thanks much!

Not 100% sure about this site but I think most good forum scripts already display in a handheld freindly way - I know SMF does, not sure about Schnitz or whatever Allen uses.

Perhaps if it had a hot topics and WSO feature people would use it.

As for charging, wouldn't you have to run that by Allen first?

I should have stated this first: I really am just taking a poll first, to see interest before going to Allen. I understand that there might be some legal/copyright issues with this (and permission issues) and definitely would need to run things by Allen. Aside from that, I was just looking to see if there was any interest on this.

This forum renders fine already on my droid so I don't think I would pay for an app...I have to zoom in, but it's only 1 extra step...and I am cheap

I have a droid also and it also renders fine. However the text on everything is crazy small, and it's a lot of panning and zooming for me and it's really annoying. That's why I thought of the app.

I have a Droid X, and while I do browse the phone on it with little issue, I'd much prefer a mobile app or a mobile version of the site. And I'd gladly pay up to $5 one-time for the app.

I think there are add-ins for the forum that support applications already. Tapatalk, for example.

For me it would depend if the app brings something to the table when viewing the forum on my iPhone. I'll use Facebook as an example. I can view Facebook on the Safari browser, but I downloaded the app because it makes it easier to view, read, and upload. It was free, but I would have paid for it.

If the Warrior app made things easier for me (to view, read, upload, purchase, etc.) I would gladly pay a one-time fee of $2.99 or $5.

We've discussed this before. I've expressed an interest in them installing Tapatalk which I was told would be "installed soon"

Tapatalk is a forum app on the iPhone, Android, BlackBerry (free) and Nokia (free).
As a BlackBerry User. I would love it installed

I've never used TapaTalk before but if that would be the solution, I would much rather use that than develop the app. I was more just looking for a solution to make things easier for us "mobile" WF members, rather than making a few bucks. Any indication from Allen when that will be installed?

I wasn't meaning to intrude on your thread by the way. Yes, I would like to see one for just WF, that doesn't require them installing anything. However, tapatalk is an easy solution, that I wish would go through.

Good idea with one time fee. What do you think about Windows Mobile?

I found and installed BBfoc 2.0 this evening to try it on my Droid X ... and it works. Warrior Forum works with it. It's a free app, so Android users, ENJOY!
