Need some constructive criticism

This is my first attempt at doing a video where I'm the one doing the talking.

Please give more your honest opinion.

Don't worry about hurting my feelings.

I'm pretty thick-skinned.

Thanks.

Kudos to you for making a video, and for having the courage to post it here for all of us to critique!

You've obviously got some great knowledge, and your video had alot of useful information. However, your delivery could use some work (and, trust me, you're not alone in this regard!). You sound a little bored with the subject (your voice was a bit monotonous, and there were a bunch of "ums" in there). I use to tell my reporters all the time - if you sound bored in your voice tracks, the audience is going to be bored, too - no matter how awesome the topic is. That's not to say you should try to sound like a high school cheerleader , but speaking with more enthusiasm would perk up the whole thing - and would encourage your viewers to stick around.

So how do you sound more enthusiastic without sounding fake? Our station's voice coach used to tell us to pretend that we were talking to a friend in a restaurant, and (in your head) start every paragraph with "Check this out..." Saying something like that to yourself automatically gets you pumped to talk about whatever you're saying.

No zip in your presentation... very yawny... need to add some pizazz and woohoo like you believe in this stuff, you are loving it and it is really good for everybody

You started off with showing something you don't want to do so why bother showing that at all

Might want to tell them how to get to clickbank for those that don't know... what does gravity mean... they may not know... what exactly are they lookin for when they get there.

there is more zip in the end when you are ending off... where you say so that should do it... your tone picks up there but that needs to be throughout

Gosh I am sorry to pick on this but those are my thoughts... not trying to be hard on you

You are brave for being able to accept whatever is coming your way

Your video is full of great content. You obviously know your stuff. Anyone could learn a lot from watching your videos.

I don't have any negative feedback, only that I might suggest making it more benefits related. In other words, here's why this content is so {important|valuable|worth watching}.

You've covered the features in great detail, so what are the benefits again? What's in it for me? Why would I watch it? Am I going to be better off after watching it?

      Know what I mean?

      Best wishes.

I think you did a great job, maybe a little more excitement to keep the audience interested, but great topic, and info, well put together

    Hi lcombs,

First let me say, good first video!I learned something today.

I read the other comments and they make some valid points. Having said that, you provide good value in the video which is the point of the exercise.

My suggestion relates to optimizing your video. I would add an annotation to open in the beginning of the video and at the end that has your name and website listed.

You might also choose to have a beginning and ending slide that tells what the video is about, and your website. Get yourself known and build your personal brand with these.
It's not about having your details visible every second of the video, just in the beginnig and the end.

Keep up the good work, you've had a good start.

  • You provide relevant content and useful information directed at a targeted audience. The video is crisp and easy to understand. The only thing you should work on is being more enthusiastic. Training people, I understand the importance of getting people to join the crusade, whatever it might be. Enthusiasm shows people that you are interested in what you do. People arent going to care about what you say or what you are trying to get across if you arent enthusiastic about what you do. Again, good video.

Thank you all for your feedback.
It is exactly what I was looking for.

And, pretty much what I expected.

    Thanks.
